31 December, 2015, India: Taking a positive step to ease the process of international brands entering in the country, the ecommerce tycoon has joined hands with Viacom 18. The new partnership will clear the licensing inroads for three largest brands Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spongebob Squarepants and Peanuts for sellers.
With this new move, the company focuses on providing its customers a product which is more authentic and can add value to their purchase. The popularity of foreign brands is rising high among the Indian customers and to catch up on this trending demand, Flipkart has raised the curtains and tied up with Viacom 18. However, the foreign companies are also looking very positive about exploring the Indian market and Flipkart can prove to be a great launching pad for such brands.
Sharing his views on the tie up, Manish Maheshwari, VP & Head Seller Ecosystem at Flipkart said, “Through this online licensing concept, we want to simplify this process by connecting International brands with the top performing sellers on our platform, giving the brands the power to keep a track on the product sales as well as the quality.”
Since it is an online licensing concept, it will help in bringing more transparency into the business and will eliminate malpractices such as fake products, low quality products etc.
