Starting from the looks, the new Elantra has got an all-new front face with a redesigned bumper, triangular LED DRLs, and lightly revised grille. Both ends of the front bumper make big triangular shapes to host the fog lamps. The side profile of the car is almost identical to the old one while the rear profile gets a newly designed bumper and new dynamic LED tail lamps.

The inside of the cabin may look quite similar to the outgoing model but there are a bunch of new things added in the car. The similar looking infotainment system is actually an all-new AVN 5.0 version which features a larger 8-inch display and a faster processor for improved responsiveness. It also has improved menus and a bird’s eye view function for navigation.

The 2019 Elantra comes with Hyundai’s hi-tech SmartSense safety systems. These include the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, the Lane Keep Assist, and the Driver Attention Alert. The sedan also has optional additional systems such as the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

Under the hood, the new Elantra will continue with the same three engines currently offered in the US market which are 2.0-liter Petrol with 147 hp and 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol with 128 hp. Both the engines can be had with either 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

Another engine option is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol motor that will exclusively be offered in the Elantra Sports model which will be launched later this year.
