WazirX to Resume INR Balance Withdrawals

Starting on August 26, users of the cryptocurrency exchange WazirX will be able to withdraw their INR balance from the platform. Customers would only be allowed to access 66% of their funds, the exchange stated in an official notification on August 23. This action is being taken in response to a large theft that has left WazirX with insufficient bitcoin holdings to pay all of its creditors.

To provide some relief to its users, WazirX is also reducing INR withdrawal fees by 60 percent, bringing the charge down from ₹25 to ₹10. Despite these measures, withdrawals of cryptocurrencies remain on hold due to the asset shortfall. The exchange’s efforts to stabilize its operations are being closely watched by regulators and users alike, as they navigate the challenges posed by the theft and its impact on the platform’s financial health.

DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations Secures Training Order from IIT Ropar

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has awarded a service order valued at ₹50.44 lakh to Pune-based DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations, for the purpose of teaching 150 people in drone technology. A contract between IIT Ropar and the Punjab government’s Center for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) gave rise to this service order.

The training course, which is scheduled to take place in 14 batches between August 2024 and January 2025, will follow the regulations established by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The program’s goal is to upskill people in drone technology, increasing their employability in a field that is expanding quickly. This order demonstrates how much demand there is in India for specialized drone expertise.

Infosys Faces Criticism for Delayed Onboarding of Freshers

Apart from the ongoing legal dispute, Infosys is under fire for delaying the onboarding of about 2,000 fresh graduates who received job offers in 2022. Candidates who are impacted by this delay are worried, and conversations over the wider ramifications for the IT sector have been ignited.

The protracted onboarding process for new hires raises concerns about the hiring practices of large IT businesses and may have an effect on the career paths of these young people. This scenario emphasizes the difficulties the sector faces in striking a balance between talent acquisition and market demands, as Infosys is one of India’s top IT companies.

Flipkart Raises Platform Fees, Sparking Concerns in E-Commerce Sector

Flipkart, an online retailer owned by Walmart, has raised its platform charge to ₹3 per user, a small but noteworthy change. Concerns have been expressed concerning this charge adjustment’s possible effects on clients, rivals, and the larger e-commerce industry.

One of the biggest e-commerce sites in India, Flipkart, increased its fees, and this might serve as a model for other companies in the space. Companies that facilitate rapid trade, like Swiggy, Zomato, and Zepto, are already keeping a careful eye on the issue. The fee rise may have an impact on competitiveness and customer loyalty, sparking debates over the pricing policies of large e-commerce companies.
