Do you want to evolve your Budew but don’t know how? Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. Just read this guide to get your answers. We’ll cover the necessary steps, and you’ll be good. So, let’s begin.
About Budew
If you want a Pokémon that makes you fall for its cuteness every time, Budew is the one. It is known to be one of the cutest Baby Pokémon out there. It’s a tiny Grass/Poison-type that looks like a little plant bud and is actually a pre-evolution of Roselia, and then later, Roserade. Each of these Pokémon has different qualities that will make you feel awed! To get it to evolve into Roselia, you need to raise its happiness and level it up during the daytime. Also, one needs to remember that it’s very sensitive to temperature, often closing its bud up tight in the cold of winter. On the contrary, when spring comes and the weather warms, it opens up and starts releasing some pollen, which can be quite toxic! So now you know that it is both cute and dangerous.
Where can we find Budew?
Budew can primarily be found in the Sinnoh region and the Galar region, though its exact location varies by the game that you’re playing. If you are playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can look for it in the tall grass on Route 204 and Eterna Forest, or even inside the Grand Underground in areas like the Spacious Cave. These are the primary spots that you can look around. If you’re playing Pokémon Sword and Shield in Galar, you’re likely to find it on Route 4 or in several parts of the Wild Area, such as Rolling Fields and Dappled Grove, mostly appearing during overcast weather. It would be a treat to watch it and find it sitting just there! Since its availability is dependent on the game one plays, you are recommended to always check your current game’s Pokédex to pinpoint the exact patch of grass or cavern where you can find this Grass/Poison-type Pokémon.
Steps to evolve Budew
Now that we know where to look for Budew, here are all the steps you need to know to evolve Budew.
Friendship is important
Before getting into it, you must know that Budew evolves based on its Friendship level, which is sometimes called Happiness. If you want to get it, you need to maximize this stat to 220 or higher. You can simply raise Friendship by walking with Budew, giving it vitamins, and even using the Soothe Bell item. While this is optional, we can still improve your chances. Also, avoiding fainting in battle and letting it hold a Luxury Ball are other ways you can focus on.
Level Up During the Day
Daytime is necessary for this evolution to take place. Once Budew has high Friendship, it must level up during the daytime only, and you can’t try it any other time. In most games, this usually means somewhere between 10:00 AM and 7:59 PM. Simply take some help through battling or using a Rare Candy during this time, and Budew will evolve into Roselia.
Use a Shiny Stone
Now that you have Roselia in your hand, you need to get a step ahead. To get the final evolution, Roserade, you need to expose Roselia to a Shiny Stone, and this evolution happens instantly, regardless of the time of day or Friendship level. So, there’s that!
Happy evolving!
