Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% stake in US-based Salesforce consulting firm Coastal Cloud in an all-cash deal worth 700 million dollars, or roughly Rs 6,000 crore. The acquisition cements TCS’s ambition to become a leading global player in Salesforce-led digital and AI transformation, significantly scaling up its presence in the high-growth cloud consulting space.

TCS Buys Leading US Salesforce Consulting Firm:

Coastal Cloud, founded in 2012, is a prominent multi-cloud Salesforce consulting firm focused on large-scale enterprise transformations across industries. The company specialises in end-to-end Salesforce implementations, helping clients reimagine functions such as Sales, Service, Marketing, Revenue, CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote), Commerce and Salesforce Data Cloud through AI-led advisory and business consulting services.

The firm has built deep customer relationships as a recognised Salesforce Summit Partner, the highest partner tier in the ecosystem. Coastal Cloud has also served on the Salesforce Partner Advisory Board, giving it a seat at the table in shaping product innovation and the services required to support new platform launches. Its leadership is helmed by Salesforce veteran Eric Berridge, known for building and scaling category-leading Salesforce services ventures, with Salesforce Ventures acting as a strategic investor in the company.

Strategic Fit with TCS’s Salesforce and AI Vision:

This deal is not TCS’s first major move in the Salesforce space in 2025. In October, the IT major acquired ListEngage, another Salesforce Summit Partner with recognised strengths in Agentforce, Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud. With Coastal Cloud now joining the fold, TCS has deepened its Salesforce advisory and business consulting capabilities across verticals and geographies, adding more than 400 seasoned professionals and over 3,000 multi-cloud Salesforce certifications to its bench.

The acquisition gives TCS access to Coastal Cloud’s diversified client base spanning multiple industries, with a strong foothold in the US mid-market segment. TCS expects to drive synergies by cross-leveraging Coastal Cloud’s relationships and its own global enterprise customer base, offering broader, AI-driven, multi-cloud Salesforce solutions. This combination strengthens TCS’s positioning as enterprises worldwide accelerate digital, data and AI transformations on Salesforce platforms.

TCS Among Top 5 Global Salesforce Advisory Firms:

With the back-to-back acquisitions of ListEngage and Coastal Cloud, TCS now ranks among the top five Salesforce advisory and consulting firms globally. The company sees this as a critical milestone in its journey to becoming the world’s largest AI-led technology services company. The expanded Salesforce practice integrates deep industry expertise, multi-cloud credentials and advanced AI and data capabilities, aligning with TCS’s broader strategy to embed AI into every layer of services it offers.

Aarthi Subramanian, Chief Operating Officer at TCS, described the deal as a pivotal marker in advancing the firm’s global Salesforce capabilities and AI-led transformation agenda. She highlighted that adding over 400 multi-cloud specialists will strengthen advisory and consulting depth while enhancing AI and data offerings built around Salesforce ecosystems. Leadership of the enlarged Salesforce practice will be bolstered by Eric Berridge from Coastal Cloud alongside Altaf Shaikh from ListEngage, together steering the next phase of growth.

Boost to Global Multi-Cloud and Industry Capabilities:

From a market standpoint, the Coastal Cloud acquisition substantially reinforces TCS’s ability to deliver comprehensive, multi-cloud Salesforce solutions across industries worldwide. Coastal Cloud’s experience in enterprise-scale transformations complements TCS’s existing strengths in large, complex programs, while its mid-market reach helps TCS tap into a broader customer spectrum in the US and beyond.

TCS is positioning itself to provide end-to-end digital transformation on Salesforce platforms, from strategy and design to implementation and managed services, by combining Salesforce Summit Partner depth with AI-led advising. It is anticipated that TCS’s Salesforce-led growth will be accelerated by the combination of Coastal Cloud’s experience, client relationships, and certified talent pool. This will also assist TCS’s bigger goal of being the world’s leading provider of AI-driven technology services.
