Flipkart Trims Workforce Amid Performance Review Cycle

About 300 workers were reportedly let go by Walmart-owned e-commerce behemoth Flipkart as part of its yearly performance review cycle. About 1.5% of the company’s 20,000 employees across several business segments are affected by the change. It represents a larger trend among big online companies toward performance-driven personnel optimization, even though the size is much less than the widespread layoffs observed in the worldwide tech industry in recent years.

Karnataka Plans Social Media Ban for Children Under 16

The Karnataka government has put out a daring proposal to prevent minors under the age of sixteen from using social media sites in order to protect young users. During the state’s budget statement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled the plan, sparking a national discussion on regulation and digital safety.

With this suggestion, Karnataka joins an increasing number of governments around the world that are considering limiting children’s use of social media. According to authorities, the goal is to reduce the negative social and psychological effects associated with excessive screen usage. However, experts are questioning how difficult it would be to implement the ban and whether it may inadvertently encourage young people to use unregulated or anonymous internet sites.

Delhi Court Orders Akasa Air to Pay ₹1.08 Crore to Travel Agency

In a landmark decision for the aviation sector, the Saket Commercial Court in Delhi ordered Akasa Air to reimburse a Delhi-based travel agency ₹1.08 crore for canceling confirmed bulk reservations during the 2023–2024 Christmas–New Year travel season.

The airline had violated a legally binding contract with ABS Tour & Travels, which had reserved 640 seats for flights from Delhi to Goa across eight PNRs, according to District Judge (Commercial) Lalit Kumar. The court emphasized the need to uphold commercial commitments, especially in industries like aviation where travel agents mainly depend on verified allocations during periods of high demand.

Jio Platforms Appoints Dan Bailey to Lead Global Expansion

In a move highlighting its growing international ambitions, Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) has appointed Dan Bailey as President. The announcement marks the beginning of what the company calls Jio’s “next chapter” beyond India.

Bailey will be based in London and report directly to Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. He will also join the Executive Committee of JPL, giving him a strategic role in shaping the company’s international roadmap. As Reliance’s digital arm continues expanding into global technology partnerships and digital services, Bailey’s appointment signals a stronger push to position Jio as a global technology platform rather than just an Indian telecom giant.

IndiGo Cancels 500+ Flights Amid West Asia Airspace Disruptions

More than 500 flights were canceled by India’s biggest airline, IndiGo, between February 28 and March 3, 2026, when global aviation routes were affected by broad airspace restrictions throughout West Asia and rising geopolitical tensions.

One of the carrier’s biggest operating difficulties in recent years was brought on by the cancellations, which affected flights to a number of international and Middle Eastern locations. Due to security concerns, several nations temporarily closed or limited parts of their airspace, forcing airlines all over the world to reroute or halt operations. The interruptions highlight how international political changes may quickly impact aviation networks and passenger travel plans for IndiGo, which runs large flights throughout the Middle East.
