The incident occurred on February 10 when the 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar murdered eight people, some of whom were family members and other students, before committing suicide. The victim list includes her mother Jennifer Jacobs at the age of 39, as well as her 11-year-old half-brother, Emmett. She then went to Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where she committed murder by shooting five kids and a teacher. Another 25 people were injured.

He noted that he had communicated directly with Premier Eby and Mr. Darryl Krakowka. “They share our grief and anger,” he added. As per Altman, they all agreed that an apology was crucial, although it was best to allow time for grieving first.
“I want to express my deepest condolences to the entire community,” Altman wrote. “No one should ever have to endure a tragedy like this. I cannot imagine anything worse than losing a child.”
Additionally, he explained that the firm will work with governments to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The company intends to examine how it manages users whose accounts demonstrate tendencies of violence, as well as under what circumstances it calls law enforcement.
