Pokémon Champions is built around battles, and one of its biggest features is the ability to bring your existing Pokémon into the game through Pokémon HOME. By linking the two services, players can use creatures collected from previous titles instead of relying only on the in-game recruitment system.

What Is Pokémon HOME?

Pokémon HOME is a cloud-based storage service that allows players to manage and transfer Pokémon between supported games. It works with several titles, including:

  • Pokémon Scarlet
  • Pokémon Violet
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A
  • Pokémon GO
  • Pokémon Sword
  • Pokémon Shield

By connecting Pokémon Champions with Pokémon HOME, you can use many of the Pokémon you have trained over the years in competitive battles.

Requirements Before Linking

Before starting the process, make sure you have the following:

  • Pokémon Champions installed.
  • Pokémon HOME installed.
  • A Nintendo Account.
  • Both applications connected to the same Nintendo Account.
  • An internet connection.

Using different Nintendo accounts can prevent the connection from working properly.

How To Link Pokémon Champions To Pokémon HOME On Nintendo Switch

The connection is made through Pokémon HOME rather than inside Pokémon Champions itself. Many players get confused because the option does not appear in the battle game first.

Follow these steps:

  1. Launch Pokémon HOME on your Nintendo Switch.
  2. Sign in with the Nintendo Account you use for Pokémon Champions.
  3. Locate the Pokémon Champions icon near the bottom-right area of the screen.
  4. Select the icon.
  5. Confirm the account information.
  6. Choose the Pokémon you want to send.
  7. Complete the transfer process.

After that, your selected Pokémon will be marked for use in Pokémon Champions.

How To Link Through The Mobile Version

Players using the mobile version of Pokémon HOME can also perform the transfer.

Here is how:

  1. Open the Pokémon HOME application.
  2. Go to the settings or options menu.
  3. Find the section called Link With Pokémon Champions.
  4. Choose Send for a Visit.
  5. Confirm the Nintendo Account.
  6. Select the Pokémon you want.
  7. Finish the transfer.

Once completed, those Pokémon will be available inside Pokémon Champions.

How To Receive Pokémon In Pokémon Champions

Sending Pokémon from HOME is only half of the process. You still need to collect them inside Pokémon Champions.

Follow these steps:

  • Start Pokémon Champions.
  • Open the main menu.
  • Choose Recruit.
  • Select Collect From Pokémon HOME.
  • Confirm the transfer.

The Pokémon will then become available for battles.

Can Every Pokémon Be Transferred?

Not every Pokémon currently works with Pokémon Champions. Some species are not yet supported.

If a transfer fails, try sending Pokémon one at a time. A particular Pokémon may simply be unavailable in the current version of the game.

Supported Pokémon can be transferred normally, while unsupported creatures must remain inside Pokémon HOME until future updates expand compatibility.

Benefits Of Linking Pokémon Champions To Pokémon HOME

Connecting the two services offers several advantages.

These include:

  • Access to Pokémon collected in older games.
  • More team-building options.
  • No need to spend Victory Points to recruit certain Pokémon.
  • Faster preparation for competitive battles.
  • The ability to use shiny and specially trained Pokémon.

Long-time fans especially benefit because years of collected Pokémon can now be used in a fresh competitive environment.

Common Problems And Solutions

Sometimes players encounter issues while attempting to link the games.

Here are some common fixes:

Pokémon Champions icon does not appear

  • Update Pokémon HOME.
  • Restart the application.
  • Make sure Pokémon Champions is installed.

Connection error

  • Verify that both applications use the same Nintendo Account.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Restart the Nintendo Switch.

Certain Pokémon cannot be transferred

  • The species may not be supported yet.
  • Try transferring individual Pokémon instead of several at once.

Collection option is unavailable

  • Ensure the Pokémon were sent from HOME first.
  • Reopen Pokémon Champions and try again.

Most problems are caused by account mismatches rather than bugs.
