SEAF Support is a new battlefield feature in Helldivers 2 that allows friendly Super Earth Armed Forces troops to fight alongside you. It arrived with the Devoid of Liberty update during missions.
Unlike the SEAF Artillery objective, this feature does not require you to complete a side objective or unlock a stratagem at your Destroyer. SEAF Support is tied to the planet and mission conditions.
How to Get SEAF Support
The first thing you need to do is choose a mission on a planet where SEAF Support is active as a planet modifier. When the modifier is present, friendly SEAF units can appear during your mission and assist your squad.
Before dropping, check the mission information and modifiers shown on the Galactic War map. If SEAF Support is listed, you have a chance to receive assistance from these troops.
There is no separate Stratagem code to enter.
What Can SEAF Soldiers Do?
The updated SEAF troops are much more useful than the basic soldiers seen in earlier missions. They can fight enemies, follow players, and provide different forms of battlefield support.
Depending on the squad, you may encounter soldiers equipped for different roles. Some focus on standard rifle fire, while specialists can bring heavier weapons. Medics can also provide healing support with Stim Pistols.
How to Use SEAF Support Effectively
Once SEAF troops are fighting near you, avoid treating them as disposable distractions. Their presence can give your squad time to reposition, reload, revive teammates, or complete an objective.
Use them when dealing with large groups of enemies. Their additional gunfire can help thin out weaker targets while your squad concentrates on dangerous units.
A soldier carrying a heavy weapon can contribute more against tougher enemies, while a medic can improve your squad’s staying power during prolonged fights.
Remember that friendly fire still matters. Your own stratagems can harm or kill SEAF troops, so be careful when throwing explosives, calling orbital attacks, or placing defensive equipment near them.
Are SEAF Troops Available on Every Mission?
No. SEAF Support is not a permanent feature that appears on every mission. Its availability depends on the current planet and its active modifiers.

SEAF Support vs. SEAF Artillery
These features are easy to confuse, but they work differently.
SEAF Support gives you friendly soldiers who participate directly in combat. SEAF Artillery is an optional objective that unlocks a powerful artillery stratagem after you activate the gun, load five shells, and connect it to your Super Destroyer.
SEAF Artillery provides five shared uses for the squad, while SEAF Support provides battlefield allies.
