World of Warcraft: Forever is Blizzard Entertainment’s new take on original Azeroth. It keeps the level 60 structure and classic-style journey while adding new regions, quests, dungeons, raids, systems, and the Skyborne race. The beta begins September 17, 2026, and runs until October 21, giving players an early look before the full launch on November 4.
If you want to get into the beta, there are two main options: opt in through Battle.net, or guarantee access by purchasing an eligible edition.
How to Opt In for the Beta
Blizzard has provided a beta opt-in for World of Warcraft: Forever. This is the first step if you want a chance to receive access without buying an edition that includes guaranteed beta access.
To opt in:
- Sign in to your Battle.net account.
- Open your account settings and find the beta or game test preferences.
- Make sure World of Warcraft testing is selected.
- Save your preferences.
Opting in does not guarantee a beta invitation. Blizzard can select players for testing based on its own criteria, so checking the option may not be enough to get into the game.
The Guaranteed Way to Enter the Beta
If you do not want to depend on an invitation, Blizzard offers guaranteed beta access through World of Warcraft: Forever upgrade editions.
The Skyborne Epic Pack includes beta access beginning September 17. The Warcraft Forever Collection also includes the Epic Pack benefits, so it provides beta access as well.
The Epic Pack is the choice if your goal is playing the beta. You do not need the most expensive package just to gain access.
The Skyborne Heroic Pack does not include beta access. It provides other benefits, including access to the Skyborne race and its starting experience, but players seeking the beta need the Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection.
When Does the WoW Forever Beta Start?
The World of Warcraft: Forever beta begins September 17, 2026, and ends October 21, 2026.
That gives testers several weeks to explore the new Azeroth. Beta characters and progress are for testing purposes, so do not expect beta progress to carry over permanently to launch.
The full game launches November 4, 2026. At launch, access to World of Warcraft: Forever will be included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time.
What Can You Expect in the Beta?
World of Warcraft: Forever is designed as a permanent Classic-style branch rather than a temporary season. Players return to Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, but the world has been expanded with new content.
Some major additions include:
- More than 1,000 new quests across the level 1–60 journey.
- Four new or reimagined regions.
- The new Skyborne playable race.
- New dungeons and raids.
- A new Darkspear Islands Battleground.
- New class abilities and race-class combinations.
- Legacy progression and the Camping system.
- Optional transmog and official gamepad support.
The goal is to preserve classic World of Warcraft while giving veteran players unfamiliar places to discover.
Is Buying the Beta Worth It?
That depends on what you want. If you only want to play World of Warcraft: Forever when it officially launches, you do not need to buy an upgrade for beta access. Your subscription or game time will cover access from November 4.
The Epic Pack makes sense if you want to play weeks early and help test the new content. It also includes additional benefits and 30 days of game time that begin with launch.
For players who do not want to spend extra money, opting in is still worth doing. Just remember that an opt-in request is not the same as guaranteed access.
