The Ray Gun has returned to Call of Duty: Warzone in the Haunted Hollow version of Haven’s Hollow. Getting it is not as simple as opening a normal Supply Box. You first need to stop the Ghost Train, then use its Mystery Box for a chance to obtain the weapon.
Where To Find The Ray Gun
The current Ray Gun method is tied to the Ghost Train on Haunted Hollow, the Halloween version of Haven’s Hollow. The train travels around the map on one of two routes. Look for a signal lever beside the tracks, then wait for the green, ghostly train to approach.
Signal levers can be found at several fixed locations, including:
- Train Station
- Between Main Street and the Riverboat
- Lumbermill
- Coal Depot
Choose a lever on the route being used by the Ghost Train so you can stop it when it gets close.
How To Stop The Ghost Train
When the Ghost Train approaches, interact with the signal lever before it reaches the signal. Timing matters because pulling the lever too late can allow the train to pass through.
If you activate the lever correctly, the train stops and changes from its transparent ghost form into a physical train. Once that happens, you can board it and search for the special loot.
The stopped train contains Supply Boxes, a Buy Station, and a Mystery Box. Look toward the rear carriages for the box, marked by glowing question marks and a beam of light.
How To Get The Ray Gun
The Ray Gun is not guaranteed from the Mystery Box, so you may need several attempts. No single roll is guaranteed, so continue. Interact with the box and begin rolling for weapons. Each roll can give you a different Legendary weapon, while the Ray Gun is a much rarer result.
If the box gives you an unwanted weapon, melee the item to reject it and continue rolling. Keep doing this while the Mystery Box remains active.
There is a limited number of spins available before the Ghost Train becomes spectral again and leaves. Because of this, move quickly once the train has stopped. If the Ray Gun appears, pick it up immediately.
The Ray Gun is clearly identified as a Wonder Weapon when it appears.
What If You Miss The Ray Gun?
Failing to get the Ray Gun from one Ghost Train does not end your chances. Once the train becomes a ghost again, follow its route and look for another signal lever.
Stop the train again and use the new Mystery Box to get another set of rolls. You can repeat this process during the match, giving you multiple opportunities to find the weapon.
Do not waste time searching random buildings for a guaranteed Ray Gun. The Ghost Train and Mystery Box are the key parts of the method.
Ray Gun Tips For Warzone
The Ray Gun fires energy projectiles that can deal splash damage when they hit near an enemy. That makes it useful when opponents are grouped together or hiding close to cover. However, its ammunition is limited, so avoid wasting shots on difficult targets.
A few simple tips can make the hunt easier:
- Land near a Ghost Train route when possible.
- Watch the Tac Map and listen for the train.
- Reach a signal lever before the train arrives.
- Pull the lever early enough for the train to stop.
- Start rolling the Mystery Box immediately.
- Reject unwanted weapons quickly.
- Stay alert for enemy squads around the stopped train.
Because other players can also see the stopped train, expect competition. Getting the Ray Gun can be valuable, but surviving long enough to use it is just as important.
