Crypto Exchange with Lowest Fees: Which Charges Should You Compare?
TwitterWhatsappLinkedin

A platform advertises a 0.10% trading fee. Looks cheap, so you sign up. You deposit INR 10,000. Then withdrawal charges hit. Price differences add up too. It’s costlier than expected.

Finding a crypto exchange with lowest fees isn’t that simple. One advertised rate won’t tell you much. You need the full cost picture.

Start with Maker and Taker Fees

Most exchanges charge you per completed order. Usually it’s a percentage of the trade. Many split this into two types.

Maker fee: charged when your order adds liquidity. Taker fee: charged when it matches instantly.

A limit order can go either way. Depends if it fills immediately or sits on the book.

Say you trade INR 20,000 at 0.20%. That’s INR 40 in fees. Frequent traders should add this up.

Check INR Deposit Charges

Some platforms let you deposit free. Others charge based on payment method.

Before depositing, check these things:

  • Supported banking methods
  • Minimum deposit amount
  • Processing charge
  • Expected processing time
  • What happens if deposit fails

Free deposits sometimes take longer though. Weigh cost against convenience. Don’t assume every method’s the same.

Understand Crypto Deposit Costs

Receiving crypto might show as free. But the sending wallet often charges a network fee. That cost is still yours to bear.

Before sending crypto, check the network. Wrong network choice can lose your funds. Always double check this part.

Compare Withdrawal Charges

Withdrawal fees change your final amount significantly. Some charge for INR, some for crypto, some both.

Crypto withdrawal fees are often fixed. That makes small withdrawals feel expensive.

Check these before withdrawing:

  • Minimum withdrawal amount
  • Withdrawal fee itself
  • Daily withdrawal limits
  • Supported networks
  • Processing conditions
  • Final amount you’ll actually receive

Low trading fees don’t guarantee cheap withdrawals. Think about how often you’ll withdraw.

Look Beyond the Displayed Price

The spread is the gap between buy and sell price. It’s rarely shown as a separate fee.

Wider spreads mean higher real costs. This matters more for low-volume assets.

Compare market price against actual execution price. Check the final number before confirming.

A low headline rate can still cost more. Wide spreads quietly eat your savings.

Account for Blockchain Network Fees

Blockchain transactions need validation first. That costs a network fee, which shifts with traffic.

Busy networks mean higher fees. Different chains cost differently too.

Some platforms bundle this into withdrawal fees. Others show it as separate.

Always check before withdrawing:

  • The network you’re using
  • Current withdrawal cost
  • Minimum transferable amount
  • What you’ll get after fees

Don’t pick an unfamiliar network just for savings. Your receiving wallet must support it too.

Consider Slippage on Market Orders

Slippage happens when execution price differs from expected. It’s not a formal fee. But it still costs you money.

Sharp price moves increase slippage. Large orders can execute across levels.

Limit orders give more price control. Downside is they might not fill at all.

Use a Complete Cost Example

Compare platforms using one consistent journey:

  1. Deposit INR 10,000.
  2. Buy your chosen crypto.
  3. Sell at the same reference price.
  4. Withdraw whatever remains.
  5. Track every fee along the way.

This gives a fairer comparison overall. Much better than eyeballing one percentage.

Review the Latest Fee Schedule

Fees shift by order type, volume, asset. Network conditions matter too. Promotional rates often have fine print.

The best crypto exchange with lowest fees depends on your trading style. Check maker fees, taker fees, deposits, withdrawals. Don’t forget spreads and network costs either.

Always check the current fee schedule first. Before any major transaction, really. The lowest advertised rate isn’t always the cheapest outcome.
