Travel fintech platform Niyo has reported a strong improvement in its financial performance for FY26, with revenue climbing 78% to ₹178 crore from ₹100 crore a year earlier.
At the same time, the company significantly reduced its losses, signaling progress toward improving its financial health. Niyo’s losses fell to ₹33 crore in FY26, compared with ₹78 crore in the previous year.
The combination of rapid revenue growth and sharply lower losses comes as the company expands beyond its traditional travel-focused fintech offerings and uses artificial intelligence to improve its operations.

AI Helps Niyo Improve Customer Service and Operations
Niyo has increasingly turned to AI to streamline various aspects of its business, particularly customer service and operational processes.
For a financial platform dealing with travel, forex and payments, automation can help handle customer queries more efficiently while reducing the amount of manual intervention required for routine tasks.
The company’s focus on technology comes at a time when fintech businesses are increasingly using AI to improve customer interactions, automate internal processes and manage growing transaction volumes.
While Niyo’s employee expenses increased during the year, largely because of the expansion of its Kanji Forex business, the company still managed to bring down its EBITDA losses to ₹32 crore.
That improvement suggests that higher operating expenses have been accompanied by stronger revenue generation and better control over overall losses.
Niyo Expands Beyond Travel Fintech
Niyo’s business is also becoming broader as it builds an ecosystem around travel and financial services.
The company now offers services including foreign currency cash, remittances, flights and hotel bookings. This allows Niyo to serve customers across multiple stages of their travel journey instead of relying on a single financial product.
Its forex business has become an important part of this expansion, with the company’s investment in Kanji Forex contributing to higher employee-related costs during FY26.
The strategy is aimed at increasing the number of services customers use, potentially allowing Niyo to generate more revenue from its existing user base.
Rather than focusing exclusively on acquiring new customers, the company is looking to deepen its relationship with people who are already using its platform.
$160 Million Funding Supports Niyo’s Expansion
Niyo has raised more than $160 million in funding from investors, giving the company significant capital to expand its product portfolio and technology infrastructure.
However, like many fintech companies, the focus is increasingly shifting from rapid expansion at any cost toward building a business with a clearer path to profitability.
CFO Gourav Kumar said the company is focused on extracting greater value from its existing customers while maintaining steady growth and working toward profitability.
The approach reflects a broader change across the startup ecosystem, where investors and founders are placing greater emphasis on revenue quality, operating efficiency and sustainable growth.

Niyo Moves Closer to Profitability
The sharp reduction in losses is one of the most significant aspects of Niyo’s FY26 performance. The company reduced its net loss from ₹78 crore to ₹33 crore, representing a decline of more than half in a single year.
At the same time, revenue increased by ₹78 crore, highlighting the company’s ability to grow its business while narrowing its losses.
Niyo’s performance will now depend on whether it can maintain this momentum as it expands its forex, remittance and travel offerings.
With AI helping improve operational efficiency and a broader range of services encouraging customers to spend more through the platform, the company is positioning itself for its next phase of growth.
For Niyo, the FY26 numbers mark a shift from simply chasing expansion toward building a travel fintech business with stronger financial fundamentals and a clearer route to profitability. The company’s improving financial performance highlights stronger operational efficiency, growing customer engagement, and increasing potential to achieve sustainable profitability in the coming years.
