Inventory space can become a problem quickly in ARC Raiders. Weapons, crafting parts, and valuable loot all compete for room in your Stash. The Outpost, added in the Frozen Trail update, gives you a new place to build, research, and store compatible items. However, unlocking it takes more than simply installing the update. You must complete the Sheltered Retreat Project and then make smart use of its furniture and expansions.

How to Unlock the Outpost
First, reach Raider Level 18. The Outpost project should then become available from the Outpost tab in Speranza. Accept the Sheltered Retreat Project to begin its three stages.
Step 1: Photograph a House at Ruined Homestead
The first task is to research topside living conditions by photographing a farmhouse near Ruined Homestead on The Blue Gate map. Bring a camera before deploying. You can obtain one by buying it from Shani, crafting it at the Workbench, or finding one during a raid.
Travel to the farmland area around Ruined Homestead and look for a house that fits the objective. Equip the camera and take the picture when you are close enough.
Step 2: Gather Construction Materials
Next, collect the materials needed to prepare the Outpost. The listed requirements are:
- 3 Planks
- 5 Sheet Metal
- 10 ARC Alloy
- 3 Advanced Electrical Components
Keep these materials in your inventory until you can submit them to the project. Planks and Sheet Metal can be found while looting or obtained through available trading options. ARC Alloy and Advanced Electrical Components are commonly gathered from appropriate loot and mechanical sources, so check containers carefully rather than leaving an area too early.
Step 3: Damage ARC Enemies
The final stage requires combat progress. Deal 800 damage to flying ARC enemies and 300 damage to a Bully. Flying machines appear across several maps, while Bullies can be found on Pendola Pass.
Use a weapon you can handle accurately and focus on surviving the encounter. Avoid fighting in the open for too long, and extract once you have completed the objectives and collected useful loot.
When all stages are finished, claim the project and open the Outpost from Speranza.
How to Get More Storage in the Outpost
Unlocking the Outpost does not automatically expand your regular Stash. Instead, it gives you a separate space where compatible furniture can hold selected items. Find furniture designs, gather their crafting materials, and place storage pieces in the available room slots.
Prioritize useful furniture over decoration if storage is your main goal:
- Weapon racks: Store compatible weapons outside the standard Stash.
- Shelves and cabinets: Hold eligible items, depending on the furniture type.
- Additional rooms: Create more space for furniture as you expand the Outpost.
Not every piece of furniture stores items, and different pieces accept different categories. Select a piece in the Outpost interface to check its capacity and which items it can hold.
Upgrade Your Regular Stash Too
The Outpost is only one way to manage limited space. You can also buy Stash expansions directly in Speranza. Open your inventory, find the Stash, and select the Expand option if you have enough Coins. Each available tier adds slots, although the price rises as you upgrade. Current guides report a maximum of 328 standard Stash slots after the latest expansions, but confirm the available tier and cost in your own game.
Keep rare crafting materials needed for upgrades, sell or recycle items you do not need, and avoid hoarding duplicate equipment before your next deployment. Combining Stash upgrades with storage furniture gives you more flexibility than relying on either system alone.
