For practitioners who want transcription, rubric mapping and AI-assisted case work alongside their reference library, Similia is a practical first option to evaluate. Pro brings live transcription, Notes-to-Rubric, AI case analysis and photo analysis into the product that holds the repertory and case workflow. Semantic repertory search is already available on Free.

The useful question is how those tools connect: speech becomes text to check, notes become proposed rubrics to inspect, and analysis becomes material for the practitioner to verify. Pro toolkit operations use credits and internet access; the selected edition determines eligible sources. The illustrative workflow below shows where each tool fits, followed by a comparison with expert-system, reflective-chat and conventional-analysis approaches.

How the Similia workflow connects

Try this workflow with a fictional practice case:

  1. Confirm that Similia’s processing consent is current and that the client has agreed to recording under your practice policy. Check you are online and have credits available.
  2. Run live transcription while noting the client’s key phrases, modalities and times by hand.
  3. Correct the transcript against those notes.
  4. Run Notes-to-Rubric on the corrected text. Open each suggestion in its source repertory and accept, edit or reject it.
  5. Add your own rubrics and run a repertory analysis.
  6. If you run AI case analysis, check every statement against the repertory and materia medica.
  7. Record your reasoning and the credits the case used.

Six tasks that get labelled ‘AI’

Different outputs answer different needs. Distinguishing them makes the software comparison more useful:

  • Semantic retrieval: a plain-language phrase returns rubrics or passages of similar meaning. These are references to read, not conclusions.
  • Speech-to-text: consultation audio becomes text, and words can be misheard.
  • Notes-to-rubric mapping: notes become proposed rubrics for you to accept, edit or reject.
  • Generated interpretation: a model writes prose about the case. That prose can sound more certain than its basis.
  • Reflective chat: discussion of principles and phrasings. Look up suggested phrasings in a repertory before using them.
  • Conventional repertorisation: you choose rubrics and the software combines them by a defined method. Compass’s expert-system analyses sit alongside this category. Synonym lists and scoring formulas alone do not establish a generative-AI capability.

Similia: reference library and paid AI in one workspace

Similia combines classical repertories, materia medica and AI tools across a permanent Free plan and paid Pro. Free needs no card. It includes eight classical repertories with AI semantic repertory search and 21 publicly readable classic materia medica books. It also allows three new cases plus three repertory analyses per month. That is a monthly allowance, not a limit of three stored cases. Free excludes AI case analysis, and materia medica semantic search needs eligible paid access.

A plain-language search in Similia returns Kent’s ‘MIND – FEAR – alone, of being – night’. Open the source rubric to check its wording before adding it to the analysis.

Pro adds Notes-to-Rubric, AI case analysis, live audio transcription and photo analysis, all of which consume credits. Pro’s unlimited cases and repertory analyses do not mean unlimited AI. The credit allowance depends on your billing term, with top-ups available when needed. Credit use varies with the AI task. Eligible first-time subscribers get a 14-day Pro trial, subject to checkout eligibility. The trial does not include offline use.

Choose the edition by the repertories and books your workflow requires: Pro Base does not unlock every premium source, and some translations and specialist texts are separate purchases. Check those entitlements alongside the AI-credit allowance.

Plan the workflow around sources, credits and connectivity

  • Connection: AI, semantic search and live transcription require internet, including in the installed app. The paid installed-app offline Beta supports manual cases, repertory analyses and downloaded reference work; it is unavailable on Free or trial. Check its validation requirements before relying on prolonged offline access.
  • Consent: case-note AI, photos and transcription need current processing consent. Reference semantic search follows a separate policy and its own access gates. Check how case inputs are processed against your practice’s data requirements before using real records.
  • Review: retrieval is not clinical validation. Generated analysis needs line-by-line human review.

Vithoulkas Compass: browser-based expert system

Compass runs online in a browser on desktop, tablet or phone, with no installation. Its expert system offers Solve, Differential and Specific Remedy Analysis. Synapse assists rubric selection, and search includes synonyms and related rubrics.

Each listed expert-system analysis consumes one credit from the allowance included in an active subscription. Extra credits do not unlock access without a subscription. Check the allowance and regional price against your expected workload; a seven-day trial precedes paid access.

RadarOpus HPP: reflective chat, not a full repertory or case-management application

The RadarOpus Homeopathic Philosophy Partner (HPP) v2 is a free custom GPT on ChatGPT. It is designed for reflective education on classical frameworks and possible repertorial phrasings. It is not a full repertory, and it is not a diagnosis, remedy, dosage or treatment-plan service. Use depends on your ChatGPT access, and you should not assume it integrates with RadarOpus desktop.

RadarOpus desktop is a separate paid Windows/macOS product for reference work and repertorisation, with its own licence and package-specific libraries. HPP’s free access does not make that desktop package free or establish integration with it.

Complete Dynamics: installed software with professional controls

Complete Dynamics installs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, and works offline. The iOS version is sold separately. The permanently free Browser Edition is installed software, not a web app. It lets you browse and search the Complete Repertory, but it has no case analysis or materia medica.

Practitioner adds repertorisation, case management, materia medica and cloud syncing. Master adds richer synonyms, materia medica search, formulas and editing, but is not available on mobile. These controls let the user inspect and adjust the analysis method.

Quality checks for each input and output

  • Audio → transcript: re-check negations, left and right, times, numbers, remedy and medicine names, and speaker changes.
  • Notes → suggested rubrics: confirm the repertory, chapter and full rubric path. Check that each rubric is neither broader nor narrower than the client’s words, and that modalities, times and sides were kept.
  • Query → semantic results: read beyond the first hit. Repeat the search using repertory terminology, and note which repertory each hit comes from. A higher ranking does not establish clinical relevance to the case.
  • Photo → analysis: use sharp, well-lit images and crop out identifying details the case does not need. Confirm that the output matches what is visible in the image.
  • Case → generated interpretation: trace each statement to a note or rubric. Correct or exclude unsupported or incorrect claims, address relevant omissions, and keep only content you have verified before it enters records. Paraphrasing alone is not verification.
  • Rubrics → expert-system analysis (Compass): log which rubrics Synapse suggested and which ones you chose. Each rerun of a listed analysis uses a credit.
  • Question → reflective chat (HPP): look up every phrasing in a real repertory, check quoted principles against the original texts, and keep identifiable client details out of the chat.
  • Rubrics → conventional repertorisation (Complete Dynamics and others): inspect synonym expansions and formulas, and confirm which repertory version and language are loaded. Check that sync has finished before opening a case on another device.

When the combined workflow is the deciding factor

Similia is especially relevant when you want reference retrieval and optional paid transcription, rubric mapping and AI case analysis within the same product. Evaluate that complete sequence on fictional material, including the review steps, rather than deciding from an “AI” label alone.

A different approach may fit when your work specifically depends on Compass’s expert-system method, Complete Dynamics Master’s editing and formula controls, or a particular source package. HPP serves a separate reflective-study role and should not be treated as a replacement for a repertory and case-management workflow.

Manual offline work is a separate requirement from offline AI. Similia’s paid installed-app Beta supports manual repertorisation with downloaded eligible sources, while the AI sequence described here requires internet. Check source coverage, credits, current processing consent and connectivity against the tasks you intend to use.

Evaluate the workflow in two stages

Start with Similia Free’s semantic repertory search: use a fictional phrase, inspect the full source rubric and create a manual analysis. That lets you evaluate reference retrieval without buying the Pro toolkit.

Then assess the paid sequence that matters to your practice: transcription, corrected notes, proposed rubrics and practitioner-reviewed AI analysis. If eligible for the 14-day Pro trial, use fictional material to record the credits consumed and the corrections you need to make.

For practitioners seeking that combined reference-and-AI workflow, Similia is the recommended starting point. Choose the edition and credit allowance using Similia plans and pricing, with the required sources and review steps already defined.
