The Cursed Mutation is a special fish mutation in Fisch, the popular fishing game on Roblox. It gives fish a bright, neon-green appearance and increases their selling value under the game’s listed mutation mechanics. Unlike ordinary mutations that can appear while fishing in different locations, Cursed is tied to a special weather event called Cursed Storm.

Getting this mutation requires finding the right fishing spot and making the most of the limited time available during the event. The good news is that you do not need to catch a particular fish species. Once you find the Cursed Storm Pool, you can fish there and try to obtain the mutation on your catches.
What Is the Cursed Mutation in Fisch?
The Cursed Mutation changes a fish’s appearance to a bright, neon teal or green color. It also produces a distinctive sound when you hold the fish and interact with it, making it easier to recognize.
The mutation has a listed value multiplier of 4x, which can make affected fish more valuable than their ordinary versions. However, the mutation’s current value effect may not work as expected, so do not rely on it as a guaranteed way to make money.
Cursed is different from mutations that you can obtain through ordinary fishing, special rods, or the Appraiser. Its main requirement is the Cursed Storm event.
How to Get the Cursed Mutation in Fisch
Follow these steps to improve your chances of catching a fish with the Cursed Mutation.
1. Find or Trigger a Cursed Storm
Your first task is to get a Cursed Storm started in your server. During the original Cults Curse limited-time event, these storms could spawn naturally at the beginning of an in-game day.
You can also trigger the event using a Cursed Storm Totem. This is the most direct option if you already have one available.
Keep an eye on server announcements because the game can notify players when a Cursed Storm begins. If you are playing on a server where the event is not active, you will need to find another way to start it before attempting to obtain the mutation.
2. Locate the Cursed Storm Pool
Starting the storm is only part of the process. You must also find the special fishing area associated with it.
When the event begins, a server-wide announcement identifies the appearance of the Cursed Storm Pool near a randomly selected island. Pay attention to this message and travel to the indicated location.
Do not assume that fishing in any random body of water during the storm will give you the same results. The special pool is the important part of this method.
3. Start Fishing in the Pool
Once you reach the Cursed Storm Pool, equip your preferred fishing rod and begin casting.
According to the available mutation information, each fish caught in the pool has a 5% chance of receiving the Cursed Mutation. This means you can obtain it without targeting one particular species.
Keep fishing until you get a mutated catch or the event ends. You may get lucky quickly, but you might also need many attempts because the mutation is not guaranteed.
4. Continue Fishing While the Event Is Active
Cursed Storms do not provide a separate countdown warning before ending. Therefore, it is worth making good use of the event while it lasts.
Stay near the designated pool, avoid unnecessary trips to other islands, and keep casting. If you are playing with friends, you can also coordinate your search for the pool so that you do not waste time travelling in the wrong direction.
Remember that the mutation chance applies to individual catches, not to a guaranteed reward after a fixed number of attempts.
How to Get a Cursed Storm Totem
If you want to obtain the mutation yourself, you will need access to a Cursed Storm. The Cursed Storm Totem is the main way to activate this event outside its original limited-time event period.
There are a few ways to look for the totem:
- Daily Shop: The Cursed Storm Totem can appear in the Daily Shop, although it has a low appearance rate.
- Rare Goods Dealer: Check this merchant when available, as the totem may be offered for purchase.
- Existing Inventory: If you already own one, you can use it to activate the event without waiting for a natural spawn.
The listed Daily Shop price is 600,000 C$, while the Rare Goods Dealer may offer it for 60 S$. Availability can vary, so check the current in-game shop before spending your currency.
Once you have the totem, activate it and watch for the server announcement. The Cursed Storm Pool will spawn near a random island, and you can travel there to begin fishing.
