Dubai-based technology company Solstice Data has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) to invest a massive ₹52,600 crore in Kerala.

The investment will be used to develop an advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data center campus at the KINFRA Industrial Park. The project is expected to be executed over the next five to seven years and could become one of the largest technology infrastructure investments in the state.

If completed as planned, the project would significantly strengthen Kerala’s position in India’s fast-growing digital infrastructure ecosystem, particularly in high-performance computing and AI-driven technologies.

Building an AI-Driven Data Center Ecosystem

The proposed facility will focus on building a high-performance computing (HPC) data center designed to support artificial intelligence workloads. HPC data centers are specialized facilities capable of processing enormous volumes of data and performing complex computations used in AI training, scientific research, and advanced analytics.

According to the company, the campus will integrate advanced computing systems, energy-efficient infrastructure, and scalable data storage capabilities. Such facilities are increasingly in demand as companies across sectors—from finance and healthcare to logistics and e-commerce—adopt AI-driven technologies.

By establishing this infrastructure in Kerala, the project aims to support both domestic and international technology companies looking for reliable AI computing capabilities.

Solstice Data’s Global Expertise

Solstice Data is known for designing, developing, and operating advanced high-performance computing and AI-focused data centers globally. The company has already worked on more than 60 data center projects across multiple markets, including the United States and Canada.

These facilities support large-scale data processing and AI model training, making them critical infrastructure for emerging technologies like machine learning, generative AI, and cloud computing.

Through the new partnership with Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, the company aims to expand its presence in India, a market witnessing rapid growth in digital infrastructure demand.

Strategic Location: KINFRA Industrial Park

The project will be located inside the KINFRA Industrial Park, which spans around 175 acres. After infrastructure development, approximately 123 acres have been earmarked for industrial use.

The park already hosts several enterprises and includes a 36,000-square-foot Standard Design Factory that has been fully allotted for industrial operations. In addition, land has been allocated to 12 other companies operating within the park.

The MoU signed with Solstice Data will cover the remaining 100 acres of unallocated land within the industrial park. This allocation marks a major milestone for the park’s expansion and could transform the area into a major digital infrastructure hub.

Boost for Kerala’s Digital Economy

The proposed data center campus is expected to create significant economic and technological benefits for Kerala. Large data center projects typically generate thousands of jobs during construction and hundreds of long-term roles in operations, engineering, and facility management.

Beyond direct employment, such infrastructure often attracts related businesses such as cloud service providers, AI startups, and technology companies seeking computing capacity.

For Kerala, the investment aligns with its broader efforts to attract high-technology industries and build a strong digital economy. With AI adoption accelerating globally, the presence of an advanced HPC data center could position the state as an emerging hub for next-generation computing infrastructure in India.

A Long-Term Technology Bet

While the project is expected to take five to seven years to complete, the scale of the investment signals growing confidence among global technology companies in India’s digital infrastructure market.

If executed successfully, the partnership between Solstice Data and Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation could transform the KINFRA Industrial Park into a key hub for AI computing and high-performance data infrastructure in the region.

The initiative also highlights how global tech investors are increasingly looking at India—not just as a market for digital services, but as a strategic base for the infrastructure powering the next wave of artificial intelligence innovation.
