Players who paid for early access to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are unable to access the game since it has been pulled offline for the second time in a day. Recall that Suicide Squad’s Deluxe Edition, which retails for £100 / $100, includes early access, even though the film officially releases on February 2nd. Developer Rocksteady made the announcement at 11:22 a.m. today that Suicide Squad would undergo regular maintenance starting at 11:30 a.m. The creator said, “The game will be offline until maintenance has been completed,” but they didn’t say when they would put it back online.
From the beginning, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League seemed to have encountered a fresh obstacle. Set for a full release on February 2, the cooperative looter shooter game from Rocksteady Studios was originally scheduled to debut in three days for consumers who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition. However, a serious error meant that the creators had to take the game down just one hour after it was released in early access. On Monday, Rocksteady said that a number of users who had accessed the game during early access had experienced an issue that led to the completion of the whole tale. The studio consequently shut down the Suicide Squad servers in order to address the problem.
In a post on X, Rocksteady stated.
“We’re aware that a number of players are currently experiencing an issue whereby upon logging into the game for the first time, they have full story completion. “To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance on the game servers. During this time the game will be unavailable. We expect this to take several hours and will update once we have more information. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Players reported server issues
After gamers started checking in for the first time and discovering the game’s plot was already finished, Suicide Squad was likewise taken down yesterday, only one hour after its early access period started in Australia. The game was not accessible for maintenance, which was estimated to take “several hours” to resolve. Players are reporting that the game’s servers are back up and running as of this writing. It was also reported yesterday by a few gamers who paid £100 for the Deluxe version that they couldn’t access DLC which was only available with the Deluxe version; however, this is also apparently resolved now.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League surrounded by drama since its beginning
There has been a lot of drama surrounding Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since its initial gameplay preview in February 2023. The game received flak for stealing ideas from generic looter shooters and foregoing the Batman Arkham series’ single-player narrative focus, which helped establish Rocksteady’s reputation. Following the reaction from fans, Suicide Squad also experienced several delays. The live service title was originally scheduled to launch on May 26, 2023, but it was ultimately scheduled to launch on February 2, 2024.
