14th March 2016, Bangalore : Bangalore-based education tech startup FlipClass has raised $1 million from education content provider S Chand and Company Pvt Ltd and seed-stage venture capital firm Blume Venture Advisors, the company stated on Monday.

Founded by IIT Kanpur graduate Vineet Dwivedi, FlipClass connects tutors and students through the platform. It helps the students with home, online and mobile tutoring solutions. It has recently launched a mobile app flipTutor, which uses Whatsapp like interface to provide answers to students’ doubts in real time.

“FlipClass has an active database of 4,000 students and 10,000 tutors and has delivered over 2,00,000 hours of home and online tuition. We are very excited to have S Chand invest in our platform. We will also look to integrate their content with our learning tools and provide a more enriching experience to students”, said Dwivedi.

FlipClass, which is owned and operated by Gyankosh Solutions Pvt Ltd, had raised 1.5Cr INR from LetsVenture, an online fund-raising platform, in April 2014.
