Nissan Kicks Compact SUV Launched In India

Nissan Kicks India launched

Nissan has finally launched the much awaited and rather much promoted compact SUV Kicks. The prices of the Nissan Kicks starts at ₹ 9.55 lakh for the base petrol variant and goes up to ₹ 14.65 lakh for the top-spec diesel variant (ex-showroom, India).

The Nissan Kicks will be available in two petrol variants: XL & XV, and four diesel variants: XL, XV, XV Premium & XV Premium+. As the Kicks carries a sporty styling, Nissan is offering as many as eleven colour combinations for the exterior of the car. Apart from this, there are 27 different accessory categories that can be customized according to the request of the buyer.

Inside the Kicks, the cabin gets leather upholstery for a premium feel. There is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on that dash that supports smartphone integration like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Kicks also gets a first in the segment 360-degree camera for easy parking. Features like auto climate control and cruise control are also on offer.

Speaking at the launch, Peyman Kargar, Senior Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., said, “The new Nissan KICKS reflects our passion and commitment to bring the best of Nissan global products and technology to our customers in India. Our R&D and Design teams in India developed the SUV in collaboration with our teams in Japan, America and Brazil.”

Under the hood the new Nissan KICKS will packs a 1.5 liter 4K petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a 1.5 liter 9K dci Diesel engine borrowed from Renault Duster, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. There is no automatic gearbox offered as of now. Nissan claims a ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 14.23 km/l in petrol and 20.45 km/l in diesel.

Kicks has been very anticipated for a long time and Nissan is expecting a lot from the SUV, in a segment that has been growing in the Indian automotive market. Thomas Kuehl, President, Nissan India Operations, said, “The new Nissan Kicks has generated a great amount of curiosity and excitement among customers. We are confident that with its progressive SUV design and advanced technology, as well as many best-in-class propositions, the new Nissan KICKS will stand out in this competitive SUV segment in India.”
