Mercedes-Maybach has revealed its updated 2027 S-Class, and as expected, the changes follow the recently introduced standard S-Class. But in typical Maybach fashion, everything here leans further into luxury, presence, and exclusivity.

The most noticeable update is right up front. The signature Maybach grille has grown by around 20 percent, giving the flagship sedan a stronger road presence. It’s not just bigger, it’s brighter too. The grille is now illuminated and proudly displays Maybach branding along its upper edge.

Lighting becomes a recurring theme across the exterior. The Maybach emblem on the C-pillar now glows, and buyers can even opt for an illuminated three-pointed star hood ornament. It’s the kind of detail that feels excessive until you see it in motion, and then it suddenly makes sense.

The headlights also receive a redesign. Inspired by the Mercedes star, they now include rose-gold accents and subtle Maybach logos inside the housing. It’s elegant, but also a reminder that even minor repairs could come with a luxury-level price tag.

A Cabin Built Around Comfort

Step inside, and the focus shifts from presence to pure indulgence.

Mercedes says the goal was to deepen the Maybach cocooning experience, and the new dashboard delivers on that promise. The MBUX Superscreen now stretches from pillar to pillar, creating a seamless digital display across the front cabin. This is also the first Maybach to feature the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System, known as MB.OS.

Rear passengers remain the real priority. Two 13.1-inch screens now come standard, offering enhanced entertainment and connectivity. A pair of remotes allows passengers to control climate settings, infotainment, and even sunshades without lifting a finger.

Then there’s the new center console. It houses bespoke cupholders designed specifically for optional silver-plated Robbe & Berking champagne flutes. It’s a small detail, but it perfectly captures what Maybach is all about.

Familiar Power, More Performance

Under the hood, the changes mirror the standard S-Class lineup.

The standard twin-turbo V-8 now produces 530 horsepower, up from 496 previously. Torque increases as well, now rated at 553 pound-feet, slightly more than the standard S-Class variant.

For those who want maximum prestige, the twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 continues unchanged. It still produces 621 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough to push this ultra-luxury sedan to 60 mph in around 3.7 seconds, impressive for a car weighing well over 5,000 pounds.

Launch Timeline And Expected Pricing

The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected to arrive in the United States during the second half of 2026. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the current model provides some clues.

The outgoing Maybach S580 starts at $233,500, while the V-12 powered S680 begins at $270,750. However, the updated model could be significantly more expensive, especially with potential import tariffs on European vehicles.

One thing is clear. The 2027 Maybach S-Class isn’t just an update. It’s a statement. Bigger, brighter, and more indulgent than before, it continues to define what modern ultra-luxury looks like.
