17th March 2016, Pune : In coming few weeks, The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) will be setting up a product incubation center in association with Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in Kharadi, Pune. Kharadi is considered as one of the IT hubs in Pune City.

NASSCOM, a non-profit organisation is a global trade body with over 2000 members, of which over 250 are companies from the China, EU, Japan, US and UK. NASSCOM’s member companies are in the business of software development, software services, software products, IT-enabled/BPO services and e-commerce.

Prasad Deore, regional head, Nasscom, told Economic times on the sidelines of the Nasscom Product Conclave, that the incubation center would be an 80-seater fully equipped set up. Startups would receive technical support, as well as access to mentors and investors through the Nasscom network, and would be incubated for an initial period of six months.

Nasscom is currently in the process of finalising the first set of startups that would be incubated at the new center. This is the latest initiative taken to support and boost tech startups in India. Nasscom’s other initiatives include 10,000 startups and startup warehouses in Bengaluru and Kolkata, which offer collaboration and co-working spaces for tech startups.
