10 May 2016, DELHI: Gurgaon based online marketplace UrbanClap has hired former executive of Housing.com, Amit Das as Vice president of design.
Das was one of the founder of Mumbai based online market real-estate company, Housing.com. At UrbanClap, his responsibility is to lead product development and design function. Prior to this, Amit has experience in data visualization UI Design, user research and usability testing which adds benefit for the growth of UrbanClap.
Amit began his career as developer after completing BE in Information Technology. He as experience working with Fab.com, FusionCharts, Kria Interactive and Housing.com

UrbanClap is a Gurgaon based service connecting customer to several professional services for home appliances, kitchen appliances and several other household servicing requirements. UrbanClap also connects customers to Events services such as wedding planners, photographers, Personal Party photographers, make-up artists and caterers. The company was founded in 2014 by Raghav Chandra, Abhiraj Bhal and Varun Khaitan.
The company has raised of about 36.5 million USD by its investors SAIF Partners, Rohit Bansal, Ratan Tata, Kunal Bahl, Accel and Bessemer Venture Partners.
In January 2016, UrbanClap acquired Mumbai based HandyHome, a service platform for home and kitchen appliances.
The company provides services to most of Metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
