Elon Musk tweeted on Monday, saying that Tesla is looking for AI engineers who are in hardcore AI. Those engineers who care about making an impact in people’s lives can be part of Tesla. This year Tesla made a big announcement about Tesla Robot, which is planned to be made to make people’s lives easier.

Tesla believes that an approach based on advanced artificial intelligence for vision and planning. Which is supported by the efficient use of inference equipment. It is considered the most efficient way to achieve an overall solution for full self-driving and beyond. The automaker has several divisions focused on specific developments: FSD Chip, Tesla Bot, Code Foundations, Dojo Chip, Autonomy Algorithms, Dojo Systems, Neural Networks and Evaluation Infrastructure. Tesla CEO Elon Musk extended an invitation to apply for employment: “hardcore AI engineers who care about solving problems that directly affect people’s lives in a major way.”

Building AI inference chips

As per the official website, there is a need for someone to build AI inference chips to run full self-driving software, design and build the Dojo system, apply cutting-edge research. It will be used to train deep neural networks on problems ranging from perception to control, develop the core algorithms. These algorithms are the ones that drive the car by creating a high-fidelity representation of the world and planning trajectories in that space. Throughput, latency, correctness and determinism are the main metrics we optimize our code for, read the official website.

The selected candidate might be asked to build open- and closed-loop, hardware-in-the-loop evaluation tools and infrastructure at scale. Additionally, to accelerate the pace of innovation, track performance improvements and prevent regressions, develop the next generation of automation. It also includes a general-purpose, bi-pedal, humanoid robot capable of performing tasks that are unsafe, repetitive or boring.

The official website stated that they “develop and deploy autonomy at scale in vehicles, robots and more. We believe that an approach based on advanced AI for vision and planning, supported by efficient use of inference hardware, is the only way to achieve a general solution for full self-driving and beyond.”
