Strong Investor Line-up Backs the Vision
Alongside Venture Catalysts, the funding round saw participation from Kamal Puri of Skyline Group, IPV, FAAD Network, LetsVenture, Vrinda Goyal of Pace Group, Haresh Patel of Arthanomics, and Maneesh Shrivastav of Alpha Value. The varied investor base brings expertise across real estate, finance, manufacturing, and technology, offering RoadGrid both capital and strategic guidance as it enters its next growth phase.
This backing comes at a critical time, as India’s EV ecosystem increasingly looks beyond vehicle manufacturing to the equally important challenge of charging infrastructure availability and reliability.
Capital to Power Manufacturing, Software and Network Expansion
RoadGrid plans to deploy the fresh capital across three key areas: manufacturing scale-up, software enhancement, and nationwide charging station rollout. The company is focused on building robust, high-quality charging hardware while simultaneously strengthening its cloud-based digital backbone.
By integrating advanced software with physical infrastructure, RoadGrid aims to improve uptime, ease of use, and operational efficiency—key pain points that often discourage EV adoption. The startup is targeting strategic urban centers and commercial hubs where charging demand is growing rapidly.
Founded by Industry Veterans
Established in 2020, RoadGrid is led by a founding team with deep experience in energy, power, and electric mobility. Deepesh Shrinath, Co-founder and CEO, brings over 15 years of experience in UPS systems, energy, and power infrastructure. Shashank Narayan, Co-founder and CTO, has more than a decade of experience spanning solar energy, automotive systems, and EV charging technologies.
The founding team also includes Chandraprakash Akotkar, who oversees operations, and Bharat Joshi, who leads marketing initiatives. Together, the leadership team is focused on combining engineering depth with market-driven execution.
Universal Chargers Designed for India’s Diverse EV Market
One of RoadGrid’s standout offerings is its patented universal EV chargers, designed to support two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. This adaptability is particularly relevant in India, where EV adoption spans multiple vehicle categories rather than being dominated by passenger cars alone.
Complementing the hardware is RoadGrid’s cloud-connected software platform, which enables real-time monitoring, billing, diagnostics, and analytics. This integrated approach allows charging station operators to manage networks efficiently while delivering a seamless experience to end users.
Dual Business Model Strengthens Market Presence
RoadGrid operates through a two-pronged business strategy. The first focuses on manufacturing and supplying chargers to EV OEMs, including solutions for off-board and fast DC charging. This positions the company as a technology partner for vehicle manufacturers.
The second segment involves building and operating public and commercial charging stations, allowing RoadGrid to directly participate in expanding India’s charging footprint. This model caters to private EV owners, fleet operators, and commercial users, ensuring diversified revenue streams.
Growing Deployments and Strategic Partnerships
The company already has operational installations in Indore and Noida, along with deployments at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) sites. RoadGrid reports a confirmed pipeline of over 1,000 chargers, indicating strong demand momentum.
It also supplies charging solutions to EV manufacturers and fleet operators, with deployments supporting companies such as Euler Motors and contributing to VinFast’s India charging network. These partnerships highlight RoadGrid’s growing relevance within both domestic and global EV ecosystems.
