What is Autoplay on OTT platforms?

Autoplay is a feature on platforms that lets you watch continuously, without having to change things manually over and over again. Doing this automatically starts the next episode of a series once the current one ends. It’s made with the idea to keep the momentum going, which a lot of users find quite helpful and interesting. And that is not the end of it! You also get to watch the previews of other shows and movies, hovering only to take a glance. So, while people find it useful, it can get self-leading at times when the user doesn’t want it to be. For that reason, one can turn it off!

Steps to turn off Autoplay on Netflix

If you want to turn off Autoplay on Netflix, then these steps may come in handy.

Sign in through a Browser

You can do it anywhere and anyhow, but the best thing we can suggest to you is to take the help of a web browser. So, while you can find some settings on the app, it’s usually most reliable to log in to Netflix via a web browser on your phone or computer.

Access Account Settings

After opening that, just hover over your profile icon in the top right corner and click on “Account.”

Find Your Profile

Scroll down to the “Profiles & Parental Controls” section and click the down arrow next to the specific profile you want to change. Since it works for profiles and not the entire account, you have to pick the profile for it.

Find Playback Settings

Look for “Playback settings” and click on “Change.”

Change it

Once you’re on the screen, you’ll see two main options here. Now you have to uncheck “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices” to stop the feature and uncheck “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices” to silence those previews if that’s also what you want, else you can keep it going.

Save

You can now save the changes you just made. You can revisit anytime to change the settings if you want the Autoplay feature to be working on your profile again.

And that is all you have to do to turn off the autoplay feature on Netflix. It is easy and helpful, and can let you watch however you wish.
