A two-character domain name combining one of the internet’s most recognizable technology terms with Slovenia’s country-code extension has attracted attention after AI.si was listed for nearly $700,000.
The domain is currently being offered for $699,995, according to a post on X. The listing describes AI.si as a short, two-character domain available for acquisition. However, the price represents an asking price rather than a confirmed sale, meaning there is no indication that a buyer has agreed to pay the full amount.
The renewed interest comes as the term “SI,” increasingly used to refer to Super Intelligence, gains visibility alongside the broader artificial intelligence boom.

.si Domains See Surge in Registrations
The AI.si listing comes amid a sharp increase in interest in Slovenia’s .si domain extension.
According to a TechCrunch report, registrations of .si domains surged dramatically in September as interest in the term “Super Intelligence” increased. The country-code top-level domain, which is officially associated with Slovenia, has consequently found itself at the intersection of technology trends and domain speculation.
Klara Herman, a spokesperson for Slovenia’s official domain registry Registry SI, told the BBC that .si registrations jumped 2,199% in September.
The surge has coincided with growing discussion around the development of advanced AI systems and the idea of superintelligence. However, Registry SI has not attributed the entire increase to any single event or political development.
Tens of thousands of .si domains were reportedly registered during the month as technology enthusiasts and domain investors attempted to secure names that could become valuable as AI terminology evolves.
Trump’s AI Order Adds Momentum
The spike in registrations also followed an executive order issued by US President Donald Trump that referred to the emergence of a “new super intelligence.”
Following the signing of the order, Registry SI recorded around 11,000 new .si domain registrations on September 30, according to TechCrunch. Nearly 13,000 additional domains were registered during the following 24 hours.
The sudden activity demonstrates how quickly changes in technology terminology and government policy can influence the domain-name market.
For investors, securing a short domain linked to a growing technology concept can represent a speculative opportunity. As AI companies compete for increasingly distinctive branding, short and memorable domains can attract significant attention.
Why AI.si Stands Out
AI.si is particularly notable because of the simplicity of its name.
The “AI” abbreviation is already widely associated with artificial intelligence, while “.si” is Slovenia’s country-code domain extension. Together, the two-character combination creates a short and memorable web address that could potentially be used by an AI company, product, research organization or technology platform.
The domain’s appeal has also been amplified by the growing association between “SI” and “Super Intelligence.”
According to TLDInvestors, AI.si was previously linked to a reported $34,000 sale in May 2025. The difference between that reported transaction and the current $699,995 asking price illustrates how dramatically perceived value can change when a domain becomes associated with a rapidly growing technology trend.

$700,000 Price Remains Speculative
Despite the headline-grabbing price tag, AI.si’s current valuation should not be interpreted as a confirmed market value.
Domain names can be listed for almost any asking price, while actual transactions may take place at substantially lower figures. Unless a buyer completes a purchase for $699,995, there is no evidence that the domain has actually achieved that valuation.
The distinction is particularly important in a speculative market where short domains can attract ambitious price expectations based on potential rather than established commercial demand.
Still, the AI.si listing highlights the increasing commercial value of digital identities connected to artificial intelligence.
As terms such as “AI” and “Super Intelligence” become more prominent, domain investors are increasingly attempting to anticipate which emerging concepts could become valuable brands. The sudden surge in .si registrations shows how quickly a technology trend can spill over into an otherwise unrelated corner of the internet.
For now, AI.si remains a striking example of how AI enthusiasm, social-media attention and domain speculation can converge to create a potentially lucrative digital asset.
