The Alpine A110 has been quietly defying automotive norms since its rebirth in 2017. Lightweight, nimble, and unapologetically analogue in a world obsessed with size and screens, it became one of the few mid-engine sports cars left standing. Now, that chapter is closing. Alpine has confirmed that the final units of the A110 will soon roll out of its Dieppe Jean Rédélé plant, marking the end of production for this modern classic.
Farewell to a French Icon
Production of the current A110 will end in mid-2026, with only 1,750 more cars slated for assembly, including 50 examples of the extreme A110 R 70. By the time the final car leaves Dieppe, roughly 30,000 second-generation A110s will have been built. It’s a modest number compared to global sports car giants, but that scarcity has always been part of the A110’s charm.
The car’s appeal wasn’t built on brute force or headline-grabbing lap times. Instead, Alpine focused on lightness, balance, and feel, the kind of driving purity that’s become rare in the era of hybrid supercars and performance SUVs.
A Final Lineup Worth Celebrating
Before the curtain falls, Alpine is giving fans one last chance to own a piece of its legacy. The range currently includes three versions: the A110, A110 GTS, and the range-topping A110 R 70.
The base A110, priced at €66,900 in France, pairs a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It’s 248 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque might sound modest, but combined with a featherlight 1,102 kg curb weight, it rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
For those wanting more bite, the €79,900 A110 GTS ups the ante to 296 hp and 251 lb-ft. The added power drops the 0–100 km/h sprint to 4.2 seconds and pushes the top speed to 274 km/h. It also adds a sportier suspension setup, an active sports exhaust, and 18-inch forged wheels.
Then comes the €122,900 A110 R 70, a track-honed special built to celebrate Alpine’s 70th anniversary. Limited to just 770 units, it’s dripping in carbon fiber, from the hood and roof to the wheels and rear spoiler. The result is a car that’s not just faster, but sharper and lighter, a proper sendoff for a cult favorite.
The Future Is Electric and Ambitious
While enthusiasts mourn the A110’s departure, Alpine insists this isn’t a goodbye but a transformation. The next-generation A110 will debut in 2026 as a fully electric sports car built on the brand-new Alpine Performance Platform (APP). Details remain under wraps, but the company promises it will be a “proper electric sports car,” preserving the agility and driving engagement the A110 is known for, just without the emissions.
The Legacy Lives On
The A110’s significance goes beyond performance figures. It symbolizes what made driving special in the first place: lightness, feedback, and soul. As Alpine prepares to electrify its future, the final batch of A110s will stand as a tribute to that spirit.
When the last car rolls off the line in Dieppe, it won’t just mark the end of an era. It’ll mark the beginning of Alpine’s boldest experiment yet, proving that even in an electric age, emotion still matters.
