One of the largest e-commerce platforms, Amazon has introduced a new software tool which will allow developers to connect doorbells and smart cameras to the Echo devices
The company has also launched the Motion Sensor, Doorbell event source, and Alexa.RTCSessionController API in America. The company is expected to release them soon in some other regions as well.
With the help of this latest technology, smart doorbells can now simply ping all Echo devices to make an announcement to notify you about a visitor or to transmit a message.
Some third-party devices are also going to support the new APIs released by Amazon. In fact, devices from Ring has already implemented the Alexa.RTCSessionController API. Amazon acquired Ring in February 2018.
So, these are some of the upcoming improvements that Amazon is going to include in Alexa’s API. A few of these improvements have already been announced by the e-commerce giant at an event held in Seattle in September 2018.
