Apple has officially opened the claims process for a $250 million settlement linked to a US class-action lawsuit over the delayed rollout of its personalised Siri features. Eligible iPhone owners in the United States can now submit claims and could receive an estimated $25 for each qualifying device.
However, the final payment is not guaranteed to be $25. Depending on the number of valid claims and other deductions from the settlement fund, the amount could be adjusted. The maximum payment is capped at $95 per eligible device.
The claims window opened on September 21, 2026, and will remain open until December 21, 2026.

Who Is Eligible for the Apple Siri Settlement?
The settlement applies to people who live in the US and purchased an eligible iPhone in the US between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. The device must have been purchased for a purpose covered by the settlement rather than for resale.
The eligible iPhone models include:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
Importantly, simply owning one of these models does not automatically make someone eligible. The purchase date and location also matter.
Eligible customers are expected to receive settlement notices containing a Claim ID and PIN. However, users can also submit a claim through the settlement website without those details.
How to Claim Apple’s Siri Settlement Payment
Eligible customers can submit their claims online before the December 21 deadline. The claim form asks for personal information and details that can be used to verify the qualifying iPhone.
The settlement website asks for the serial number of the eligible device. Customers who do not have access to the serial number can use their Apple Account email address and the phone number associated with the qualifying iPhone as an alternative verification method.
The settlement is calculated on a per-device basis. The current expected payment is $25 per qualifying device, although the final amount may be adjusted up or down depending on the number of valid claims and other settlement-related costs.
The maximum payout is $95 per device. This means customers should not assume that filing a claim will result in a $95 payment.
Anyone planning to submit a claim should also use the official settlement website and avoid relying on links from unsolicited emails or social media posts.
Why Is Apple Paying $250 Million?
The settlement originates from a lawsuit concerning Apple’s delayed personalised Siri capabilities.
At WWDC 2024, Apple showcased a new version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. The company demonstrated features designed to give Siri greater awareness of a user’s personal context, understand what was displayed on the screen and perform more actions across applications.
These capabilities became an important part of Apple’s messaging around Apple Intelligence and its newer iPhones. However, Apple later announced in March 2025 that the more personalised Siri experience would be delayed.
The lawsuit alleged that Apple’s marketing and product presentations created expectations that these features would be available sooner than they ultimately were. Apple denied the allegations and did not admit wrongdoing as part of the settlement.
Apple agreed to pay $250 million to resolve the case and avoid the costs and risks associated with continuing the litigation.
The timing is notable because Apple has now released the Siri AI features that were at the centre of the dispute. The company announced the updated Siri experience in 2026, with features including personal-context understanding, onscreen awareness and broader app actions.

When Will Apple Settlement Payments Arrive?
Filing a claim does not mean that payment will arrive immediately.
The claims period ends on December 21, 2026, after which the settlement process will continue. A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027.
Payments are therefore not expected to be distributed until after the court completes the final approval process and the settlement administrator finishes reviewing claims.
For eligible iPhone owners, the most important date for now is December 21, 2026. A valid claim must be submitted by that deadline to be considered for a payment.
