Apple Hiring for Downtown Detroit Apple Store
While Apple has not yet announced a specific opening date or the exact store location, sources suggest the new retail space will be at 1426–1434 Woodward Avenue. This area, currently under renovation, is owned by Bedrock Real Estate, whose founder, Dan Gilbert, has long advocated for an Apple Store in Detroit.
What We Know So Far

- Job Openings: Apple has listed recruitment notices, but specific roles have not been detailed.
- Unique Store Design: Like other new Apple Stores, this location will feature a custom Apple logo, though it is not available for download yet.
- Michigan Expansion: This will be the fourth Apple Store in the Detroit area and seventh in Michigan, joining locations in Novi, Troy, and Clinton Township.
Apple’s Growing Presence in Detroit
Apple’s investment in Detroit extends beyond retail. In 2021, the company partnered with Michigan State University to launch an Apple Developer Academy, providing training for aspiring app developers. The new store could further revitalize downtown Detroit, aligning with the city’s recent economic resurgence.
What’s Next?
Renovation signage has been up since June 2024, and hiring is underway. As the opening date approaches, Apple is expected to announce official details soon. Stay tuned for updates on the Apple Store Detroit grand opening.
