Fans of Le Mans Ultimate were growing anxious since there was little video available and less than a month to release. The official WEC game was supposed to launch on February 20th, but fans were bracing themselves for a postponement following Studio 397 and Motorsport Games’ radio silence. It has officially been announced by Studio 397 that Le Mans Ultimate will now go into Early Access even though it is still scheduled for a February release.
The price range for early access
Le Mans Ultimate, which was originally scheduled for release in December 2023 but was postponed, will be live in Early Access on Steam on February 20 for £24.99 / €29.99 / $32.99. The game will be available for less to those who purchase the early access edition on launch day; “incremental price increases” are anticipated as the game develops.
In a “collaborative process,” Studio 397 will provide updates on builds, bugs, new game features, and quality-of-life improvements to the community. Users in early access get access to forums, surveys, events, and the ability to “shape future developments” by suggesting ideas to the developers.
Toyota GR010 is being shown in the new teaser
Although a new teaser showed the Toyota GR010 being driven around Portimao, there has been no footage of the Cadillac V-Series.R or the Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH. Although the abrupt switch to Early Access is unexpected, it’s the proper decision to lower user expectations in case the game still requires work given Motorsport Games’ continued financial difficulties. This will help work out any flaws, optimize the game for the PC, and at the least, buy the developers more time to provide a more comprehensive experience in the finished product.
Dom Duhan, Head of Studio 397, stated,
“Launching in Early Access is an important step in realizing our ambitions; we will launch features and content only when ready and up to the high standards we set ourselves.”
Supercars in Le Mans Ultimate
With Le Mans Ultimate, the first official WEC game in more than 20 years, you may drive every Hypercar, LMP2, and GTE class car from the 2023 season. Le Mans Hypercars from Cadillac, Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, Porsche, Toyota, and Vanwall will be included in a racing game for the first time. Gamers will compete on meticulously reconstructed laser-scanned courses, which include the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the 24-Hour Le Mans, as well as Sebring, Portimão, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Fuji, Bahrain, and others.
Le Mans Ultimate will only be available on PCs for the time being, but depending on sales, Studio 397 may eventually bring the game to consoles. Versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are probably not going to be available until 2025 at the earliest, as the final game doesn’t currently have a release date.
