Fall Guys will be wearing special costumes inspired by the main characters of the hit franchise, Gears Of War, all coming out this week. Marcus Fenix, Kait Diaz, and General RAAM will become new members of The Beano Horde in Fall Guy’s latest crossover content. It is about time that Markus Fenix and Kait Diaz, a Gears of War franchise favorite, and General RAAM, proudly took their places in the Bean Horde.
It is confirmed that Fall Guys is getting some of the Gears Of War content in the franchise starting today, thanks to The Game Awards. The Gears of War 3 wait has been worth it, and then some, Gears of War 3 is a monumental piece of game design you will never forget. All that, plus the game characters being voiced by legendary rapper Ice-T, makes Gears of War 3 the appropriate conclusion to Epics’ time with Gears.
For Epic Games, unloading Gears of War properties was a watershed moment for the company, a necessary business move. Epic Games added it plans to keep investing in Fall Guys, too, and players should not expect any changes in gameplay as a result of the acquisition.
It has also added new maps, modes, quests, and achievements; an extra difficulty level for Gears of War veterans to face; and early access to a multiplayer beta of the upcoming sequel, Gears of War 4, also revealed at Microsofts E3 showcase last June. Extensive multiplayer beta testing and dedicated servers mean Gears of War 3 has the potential to become a go-to online title for all sorts of players, while new modes and reworks to old favorites mean it is as good as it gets. Gears of War is one of Microsofts most dependable franchises, though it has not reached Halo or Forza levels of greatness with each new version over the past few years.
Gears Tactics does not hold up as well as the other titles of the Gears Tactics genre, but for fans of the franchise, it is a nice little bit of variety. Gears Tactics provides a little bit of background on characters introduced in new developer The Coalitions two major Gears games, packing impressive boss battles and memorable characters throughout. Every Gear of War title has kept many of the same elements, regardless if it is from Epic or the new developer The Coalition.
More features were added, including mechanics that were carried over from the new Gears of War games, like gun-spotting and switching weapons as Roadies race, among others. Multiplayer and the Horde modes have removed a lot of Gears of War 4s most annoying elements for money, and have presented something more optimized for its loyal fans, though the majority of those can probably do with not having Terminator and all of the other crossover characters. The multiplayer is great fun, and new localization features mean even if you are not the best player in the world, you are going to get something out of the experience.
