New Delhi, Oct 9 (ANI): With the ‘Big Billion Day’ sale round the week, Flipkart has adopted a new strategy to attract more customers. It has sent over half-a-million mail postcards to its users for making the company’s ambitious sale a success.

The sale is slated for October 13 to 17 with a target to reach 50-million consumers with products across 70 categories, including apparel, furniture and toys.

Riding on the success of the mobile app, Flipkart will be this time shifting away completely from desktop users to its mobile app users.

Some 75 percent of Flipkart’s traffic comes through mobile. And by sending these personal postcards to half a million users, the company is hoping to encourage more users to join the sale.

“In today’s world, a lot of communication is moving online, so we said how do we create a personal connect with our consumers?” said Mausam Bhatt, Senior Director Growth at Flipkart.

Despite India’s growth in smart phone sales and online population, many are still hesitant to buy online. By reaching out to the most potential users in remote areas, Flipkart is hoping to attract more users towards the ambitious sale.
