Ravneet brings tremendous consumer marketing experience having worked on leading Global and Indian brands such as Nokia, Whirlpool and Flipkart

Bangalore, September 15, 2015: Ather Energy, a Bangalore based start-up, that builds smart electric two-wheelers announced the appointment of Ravneet Phokela as its Chief Business Officer. In his new role, Ravneet will oversee marketing, sales and customer experience for the company.

Ravneet joins from Flipkart where he was Vice President and Practice Head of their Strategic Brands Group. Prior to this he held the position of the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of eCommerce at PAYBACK India, a part of American Express and one the biggest coalition loyalty and performance marketing programs in the world. 

Commenting on the new appointment, Tarun Mehta, CEO & Co-founder, Ather Energy said, ‘Ravneet brings valuable experience to Ather and will be an asset to the Management team. His knowledge in driving brand and customer experiences is significant and strategic, as we near the launch of our vehicle. We look forward to benefitting immensely from his expertise in building memorable brands.’

Ravneet commented, ‘Ather is poised to drive serious disruption, not just through an innovative product, but the way we plan to take it to market and engage with our consumers. It promises to be an exciting journey for the organization as it unlocks new market opportunities, and I am looking forward to being a part of it.’

Ravneet received his MBA degree from the IMT, Ghaziabad. He started his career at Lowe Lintas and moved on to join Whirlpool where he headed marketing services for the home appliances brand. He later joined Nokia in London as Global Marketing Director. To his credit are enduring campaigns like  ‘Mummy ka Magic’ for Whirlpool washing machines, and ‘Made for India’ campaign for the Nokia 1100, which continues to be one of the most successful campaigns for Nokia India till date.
