Google Pixel 9a Set to Launch in March 2025: Specs, Release Date & Price
Google is making major changes to its product launch timeline. Following the early launch of the Google Pixel 9 series in August 2024, the company is now advancing the release of the Google Pixel 9a to mid-March 2025.
Google Pixel 9a Release Date & Availability
According to a new report from Android Headlines, the Pixel 9a pre-orders will go live on March 19, 2025, with official sales and shipments starting on March 26, 2025. This means Google is moving away from its traditional May release window for the Pixel A series, which usually coincides with the Google I/O event.
Google Pixel 9a Battery: A Major Upgrade
One of the standout features of the Google Pixel 9a is its 5,100mAh battery, the largest ever in a Pixel phone. For reference:
- Google Pixel 9 Pro XL – 5,060mAh
- Google Pixel 8a – 4,500mAh
If accurate, this would be a game-changer, finally addressing the Pixel A series’ historical battery life concerns.
Google Pixel 9a Specs (Expected)
Beyond the battery upgrade, leaked details suggest that the Pixel 9a will feature:
✔ Processor: Tensor G4
✔ Display: 6.2-inch FHD+ Actua
✔ Storage Options: 128GB / 256GB
✔ Colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, Peony
Google Pixel 9a Price: What to Expect
The Pixel 9a price is expected to start at $499, similar to last year’s base model. However, if you opt for the 256GB variant, it may cost $599—$40 higher than the previous model.
Should You Buy the Pixel 9a?
With a larger battery, Tensor G4 chip, and an improved display, the Pixel 9a looks like a solid mid-range option. However, the price increase might deter budget-conscious buyers.
