Yool is a Seasonal Monster in My Singing Monsters that celebrates the Festival of Yay, a winter holiday event in the game. With its jingle bells and deep baritone vocals, Yool adds festive cheer and unique musical tones to your Cold Island or Seasonal Shanty. Because it is seasonal, it can only be bred during limited times of the year, making it a rare and exciting addition to any monster collection.

Yool is especially valued because:

  • It brings a festive sound to your island.
  • It’s required to complete seasonal goals and achievements.
  • It can breed with other monsters to create rarer variants.

Now, let’s dive into the breeding details.

When Can You Breed a Yool?

The timing is important. Yool is only breedable during the Festival of Yay, which usually takes place in December each year. This event mirrors the holiday season and lasts for a limited amount of time. If you try to breed Yool outside of this event on Cold Island, the combination won’t work, and you’ll only end up with one of the parent monsters.

There is one exception: Seasonal Shanty. Once you already have any version of Yool in your collection, you can place it on Seasonal Shanty and use that island to breed more Yools at any time, regardless of the season. This is extremely helpful if you want duplicates or plan to breed rare variants.

Breeding a Common Yool: Step-by-Step

Here’s a clear guide to breeding a Common Yool:

1. Reach the Festival of Yay Event

  • Make sure the Festival of Yay is active.
  • Yool can only be bred during this event on Cold Island.

2. Get the Required Monsters

To breed a Common Yool on Cold Island, you must combine:

  • Thumpies
  • Congle

Place them together in the Breeding Structure. The order does not matter, but both must be selected for the attempt to work.

3. Start Breeding

Once Thumpies and Congle are selected:

  • The breeding process will begin.
  • The default breeding time for a Yool is 1 day and 12 hours.
  • If you use an Enhanced Breeding Structure, this time is slightly reduced.

4. Be Patient and Persistent

Even with the correct combination, breeding a Yool is not guaranteed. The game uses chance-based mechanics, so you might receive Thumpies or Congle instead. Keep trying until the breeding succeeds.

Breeding Yool on Seasonal Shanty

After you own at least one Yool, you can breed more at any time on Seasonal Shanty. Some reliable combinations include:

  • Yool + Monculus
  • Yool + Spurrit
  • Yool + Gobbleygourd
  • Yool + other seasonal monsters

These combinations often have similar or shorter breeding times and can be a dependable way to expand your collection without waiting for the Festival of Yay.

Best Strategy on Seasonal Shanty

For the best chances:

  • Keep both a Common Yool and a Rare Yool if possible.
  • Use other seasonal monsters like Monculus to improve your odds.
  • Many players find Seasonal Shanty the most flexible place to breed additional Yools.

Rare and Epic Variants

Yool has two additional variants that advanced players often seek out:

Rare Yool

  • Rare Yool has a unique appearance and higher coin production.
  • You can attempt to breed Rare Yool using Thumpies + Congle during the Festival.
  • On Seasonal Shanty, combining a Yool with another seasonal monster can increase your chances of getting the rare variant.

Epic Yool

  • Epic Yool is the hardest variant to obtain.
  • It usually requires a different combination such as Deedge + Pango.
  • Epic Yool only appears during special limited-time promotional events.
  • It has a longer breeding time and a significantly lower chance of success.

While rare and epic versions are not required to progress through the game, many collectors enjoy obtaining them for their appearance and unique sounds.
