Cyberware is a major part of building your character in Cyberpunk 2077. These mechanical implants improve combat abilities, support different playstyles, and give V the futuristic look that defines Night City. However, if you want to change how your implants look rather than how they perform, the process depends on the type of cyberware you have equipped.

With the Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5), released on October 22, 2026, CD Projekt Red introduced Glamdocs, special vendors that let players customize the appearance of their arm cyberware. Here is how to use them and make your character stand out.
What Is Cyberware Customization in Cyberpunk 2077?
Cyberware customization covers two different things: changing an implant’s functionality and changing its appearance. These systems work differently, so understanding the distinction will help you find the right vendor.
Ripperdocs handle functional upgrades. You can purchase new implants, replace existing ones, and upgrade compatible cyberware to improve your character’s abilities.
Glamdocs, introduced in Update 2.5, focus on appearance. They offer special designs for four types of arm cyberware, allowing you to personalize your equipment without treating cosmetic changes as gameplay upgrades.
How to Customize Cyberware at a Glamdoc
Follow these steps to change the appearance of your implants:
- Equip arm cyberware: Open your character’s cyberware menu and equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or the Projectile Launch System.
- Open the map: Look for the Glamdoc locations marked with spray-paint icons.
- Choose a Glamdoc: Travel to one of the five available vendors in Night City.
- Browse the designs: Check the vendor’s available cyberware skins and select a design that suits your character.
- Customize the appearance: After purchasing a skin, adjust its available colors and decals.
- Confirm your selection: Apply the changes and check how the new design looks in the game.
Each Glamdoc operates from a unique shop and has its own selection of designs. If you cannot find the style you want at one location, visit another vendor to explore a different collection.
Which Cyberware Can You Customize?
Update 2.5 allows players to customize four types of arm cyberware.
- Mantis Blades: Give your retractable blades a distinctive appearance that suits an aggressive melee build.
- Gorilla Arms: Change the look of your powerful mechanical fists.
- Monowire: Personalize the appearance of the thin, flexible weapon used for close-range attacks.
- Projectile Launch System: Customize the arm-mounted system used to launch explosive projectiles.
The update introduces 40 cyberware styles across the available designs. You can also adjust colors and decals after purchasing a compatible skin, giving you more control over the final appearance.
Remember that cosmetic customization does not replace the need to equip the corresponding cyberware. You must have the relevant implant installed before changing its appearance.
How to Upgrade Cyberware at a Ripperdoc
If you want stronger abilities rather than a new look, visit a Ripperdoc. These specialists are located throughout Night City and can be found through the map.
Open the map, use its filters to locate Ripperdocs, and set a waypoint to the nearest clinic. Once there, access the cyberware menu to browse available implants.
You can then:
- Purchase and install compatible cyberware.
- Replace an existing implant with another option.
- Upgrade eligible implants when you have the required resources.
- Review the benefits and Cyberware Capacity cost of each implant.
Your available choices depend on your character’s progression, installed upgrades, and available capacity.
Manage Your Cyberware Capacity
Every implant uses Cyberware Capacity, which determines how much cyberware V can equip. Installing too many expensive implants is not possible unless a specific perk or effect allows you to exceed the normal limit.
Before purchasing an upgrade, compare its benefits with your current build. A strong melee character may prioritize Gorilla Arms or Mantis Blades, while a player who prefers ranged combat might benefit more from other equipment.
Cyberware can also contribute to your Armor rating, making these choices important for survival as well as damage.
