If you want to reuse your old username, you must wait until the 30 days have passed.
Steps to delete an Instagram Account
If you want to delete an Instagram account, then these are the steps that you need to follow.
- Open Instagram and tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right to open the main menu. This has all the options you need to see.
- Here, Select Accounts Center at the very top of your settings list, and then scroll down and tap on Personal details under the account settings area.
- After this, Select Account ownership and control, then tap on Deactivation or deletion.
- Click on the specific account you wish to close permanently.
- Choose the Delete account option instead of deactivation and click on continue.
- You can now give a reason for leaving from the list provided, and then enter your current account password to verify your identity.
- Confirm the request by tapping on the delete button one last time.
- Now Open settings and click on the Accounts Center panel on the left side of the screen.
