Getting the Quick Sling in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a rewarding goal for many players. It’s one of the Blue Tools that can significantly change how you use tools in the game. This article will explain clearly what Quick Sling does, why it’s useful, where to find it, and how to get it as quickly as possible. Let’s dive in.

The Quick Sling is a Blue Tool in Silksong. Blue Tools are passive—they don’t need to be activated, they work automatically once equipped. Quick Sling’s effect is:
- It allows Hornet to throw two tools at once instead of one.
- It doubles the number of tools thrown when the equipped tool allows multiple throws.
- Note: using it still consumes the same number of resource charges as throwing as many times normally. So you don’t get free tool uses, but you get more output per throw.
So, in essence, Quick Sling boosts your tool-throwing efficiency. It works well with tools that benefit from multiple projectiles. But it doesn’t affect all tools—some tools cannot benefit from this effect.
Why You Want Quick Sling Early
There are several reasons players aim to get Quick Sling relatively early in their playthrough:
- It improves combat flexibility. If you use thrown tools often (like certain pins or projectiles), doubling the throws helps clear enemies faster.
- It can make resource management easier: fewer separate throws means less switching, smoother fighting.
- Exploration becomes more forgiving: some secret paths or rooms require tools thrown in specific ways. Having more options per throw helps.
So getting Quick Sling early allows you to take advantage of it sooner rather than later.
Where and How To Find Quick Sling
To acquire Quick Sling, here’s what you need to do:
- Reach the Bilewater region
The Quick Sling is located in Bilewater, which is one of the more advanced open areas in Silksong. - Locate a specific secret area
You’ll need to find a room that’s just above where the map shows “Bilewater”. The room is hidden behind breakable ceilings/walls. You need to break through false or breakable ceilings. - Use mobility and abilities
Sometimes, to reach breakable ceilings or hidden ceilings, you may require certain mobility or traversal upgrades. Make sure you have climbed, double-jumped, or otherwise navigated vertical shafts adeptly. - Break through the ceilings
Once you reach the secret room, break through the ceilings to access the chamber holding Quick Sling. The path may be hidden or require jumping above ledges or using environmental clues. - Pick up the Quick Sling
Claim the tool in that chamber. Once you pick it, you can equip it at a Bench if your Crest (which governs slots for tools) allows a Blue Tool. Then it becomes active passively.
