If you want to dress your Ghost like Sam Fisher, the Fourth Echelon outfit is a popular customization reward in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The set is tied to the Deep State adventure, which brings Sam Fisher into the game. Getting the complete outfit is straightforward once you know which content you need.
What Is the Fourth Echelon Outfit?
The Fourth Echelon outfit is a clothing set inspired by the unit from the Splinter Cell series. It gives your character a stealth-focused look based on Sam Fisher’s gear and can be used through Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s customization menu.
The set includes:
- Fourth Echelon Top
- Fourth Echelon Pants
- Fourth Echelon Boots
- Fourth Echelon Gloves
- Fourth Echelon Full Mask
- Fourth Echelon Goggles
The goggles are the important exception. They are awarded during the first Deep State mission, while the remaining clothing pieces are tied to the adventure’s progression.
How to Unlock the Outfit
To get the complete Fourth Echelon outfit, you need access to the Deep State adventure, also known as Episode 2. You can access it through the Year 1 Pass or by purchasing the adventure separately, depending on the version of the game and content available to your account.
Once you have access, open your Objectives Board and select the Deep State missions. The adventure introduces Sam Fisher and sends Nomad through a storyline involving Skell Technology and the CIA.
Play through the Deep State missions and keep completing the objectives. The Fourth Echelon clothing pieces are distributed as adventure rewards, so there is no special shop purchase required for the complete set.
Can You Get the Goggles for Free?
Yes. This is where the Deep State rewards can be slightly confusing. The first Deep State mission was made free for all Ghost Recon Breakpoint players. Completing that opening mission gives you the Fourth Echelon Goggles and the SC-IS HDG handgun without requiring the full adventure.
That means you can obtain the goggles without buying the complete Deep State adventure. However, the other Fourth Echelon clothing pieces require access to the paid adventure or Year 1 Pass.
If you only want the goggles, start the free Deep State mission and complete its objectives. If your goal is the full Sam Fisher-style outfit, you will need the remaining Deep State content.
What About the Fourth Echelon Mask?
The full mask is another Deep State reward and should not be confused with Third Echelon headgear. Ghost Recon Breakpoint contains several Splinter Cell-inspired items, making the sets easy to mix up.
The Fourth Echelon pieces are associated with the Deep State adventure. The Third Echelon and Paladin Nine items are separate customization options and are not substitutes for the Fourth Echelon set.
Can You Buy the Outfit From Maria’s Shop?
No. The complete Fourth Echelon outfit is not simply a normal Maria’s Shop purchase. Its main clothing pieces are rewards from the Deep State adventure.
Other Splinter Cell-themed equipment exists, but similar-looking items do not unlock the actual Fourth Echelon set. If you want the authentic set, progressing through Deep State is the intended method.
How to Equip the Outfit
After unlocking the rewards, open the character customization screen. Go through the individual clothing slots and select the Fourth Echelon pieces you earned. You do not have to use every piece together, so you can mix the outfit with other gear if you prefer a different appearance.
For the classic Sam Fisher look, equip the Fourth Echelon top, pants, boots, gloves, mask, and goggles together. You can then adjust your character’s other cosmetic options around the set.
