- To fix this, you can simply open your Instagram app and go straight to your inbox by tapping the messenger icon at the top right.
- It is very locatable. Just look at the notes bar at the top of your messages, where the little bubbles are found.
- Here, find the specific person whose notes you want to hide and long-press on their profile picture. This should do it.
- A menu will pop up from the bottom of the screen, and you can now select the option that says mute notes.

Steps to hide one’s own notes from someone on Instagram

- Open Instagram and tap on your profile icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. It has your picture, so that’s how you know it.

- Scroll down and select Close Friends. Now just check the boxes for everyone you actually want to see your updates. You can choose to leave out the ones you don’t want to have a glimpse of what you post as your notes.
- Save that list when you are sure.
- Now you can simply post a new note and look for the audience button at the bottom of the sharing screen. Here you can change the setting from Followers you follow back to Close Friends. This would fix the entire scenario.
