Only after defeating them can you embark on the quest to locate and learn the Vaultkeeper’s Melody.
Step 2: Head to the Cloistered Wing
Once the Cogwork Dancers are defeated, make your way to the Citadel’s cloistered wing. This usually involves navigating upper or hidden areas inside the Citadel. You may need to explore nearby rooms, follow the map icons, or use a Needolin-enabled door to access it.
The cloistered wing is more serene compared to other parts, with quiet hallways and a sense of mystery.
Step 3: Locate Vaultkeeper Cardinius
Within the cloistered wing, search for an NPC named Vaultkeeper Cardinius. He stands near an ornate altar or a designated musical area. When you find him, approach and speak with him. He will request the Sacred Cylinder—an artifact you must first obtain.
Step 4: Get the Sacred Cylinder
Before interacting with Cardinius, you need the Sacred Cylinder in your inventory. You typically obtain it somewhere earlier in your adventure, often after navigating a tricky platforming gauntlet, ringing a bell, or finding an altar in a connected area such as Whispering Vaults or Underworks. Be sure you have this item before returning to the cloistered wing.
