What is the CarShield Claim?

The “CarShield Claim” Is a massive $10 million settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over some allegations of deceptive advertising. You heard it! So, if anyone felt that they had been falsely advertised in the past, they can raise a claim. The FTC found that CarShield misled customers by using celebrities like Ice-T to promise “peace of mind” and total coverage. But this is not the problem! What happened is that many common repairs were excluded, and claims were frequently denied. Therefore, as of December 2025, the FTC has finished distributing refunds to over 168,000 consumers who were affected. If you also had a claim denied between September 2019 and September 2024, you were likely included in this automatic payout. But we’ll walk you through the process to cross-check that.

Steps to make a CarShield claim over false advertisement

If you want to raise a claim for these false advertising allegations, then these are the steps that can come in handy.

Check for an Automatic Refund

This was the most straightforward way that didn’t even require you to do anything. The FTC recently distributed nearly $10 million to over 168,000 customers who had claims denied between September 2019 and September 2024. If you too were one, the claims had been settled from their own. Try to search your records or mail for a check from the FTC.

Contact the Settlement Administrator

If you think you were eligible but didn’t get a check, you can call Analytics Consulting at 1-855-298-8877. This is the official number dedicated to the CarShield settlement. You can contact them here and explain your situation to let them help you.

File a Formal Complaint with the FTC

This is a more stern step than one can take. This doesn’t even require you to be a part of the initial settlement. You can report current deceptive practices at ReportFraud.ftc.gov either way. However, it will help if you have a pending claim to settle.

Submit a Dispute to the BBB

CarShield frequently resolves complaints filed through the Better Business Bureau to protect its rating. So, you can take its help. However, be specific to mention the kind of advertisement that was the culprit.

Contact Your State Attorney General

The last thing you can try is to file a consumer protection claim through your state’s AG office. This can be of help and will be a solid legal measure.

While most of the claims have been settled already, you can follow either of the methods if you’re not satisfied.
