Do you want to declutter your Canvas dashboard and remove classes? Here is how you can do it. Let us understand the steps of removing some classes on the Canvas dashboard and what does it mean. So, let us begin.
What is a Canvas dashboard?
Your Canvas dashboard is like the main area of your command center, which is more like a personalized hub that shows you everything you need to know, especially when it comes to your classes. It’s a dynamic to-do list that can also help you organize your course and serve as a quick-glance calendar all in one. This is the place where you can see your upcoming assignments, check recent grades, and also quickly jump into a course with a single click to get further details ahead. It’s a customizable space that helps you know your academic space and contents, and to stay updated.
Can I remove classes from the Canvas dashboard?
Yes, you can customize your Canvas dashboard to show only the classes you want to see. This feature comes in handy when you have a number of classes on the dashboard and need some managing. You can’t actually “delete” a course from your account, but you can hide it from the dashboard view so that it doesn’t immediately appear when you open it. It is not difficult, and we shall see the steps to do the same ahead.
Steps to remove classes from the Canvas dashboard
If you want to remove classes or rather hide classes from the Canvas dashboard, you need not worry. It is really simple and let us show you the steps!
- The First thing is to log in to Canvas and find the main navigation menu on the far left.
- Once you find it, click on the “Courses” tab, and then select the “All Courses” option at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
- This will bring you to a page with a list of all your current, past, and future courses. You can go through these courses to sort them out and even check what has been there in the past. But to do that, you’ll see a little star next to each one.
- Now, to “hide” a course, you just have to click on the star next to its name, so it’s no longer colored in.
- The courses with a filled-in star will appear on your dashboard, just like a wishlisted or favorites item appears on websites. When you do that, those without one will be hidden. You can always come back to this page to change your selections at any time.
This will mark a clear distinction between the marked and the unmarked classes, which will only show up the marked ones or the chosen ones on the dashboard, decluttering it. If you want to make any changes in this, you can revisit the settings and do so. The steps are going to be the same and you can do so in a few minutes.
