About Cobblemon
Cobblemon is a new open-source Minecraft mod that merges the blocky world of Minecraft with the immersive and large universe of Pokémon. You get all the core mechanics of a Pokémon game like catching, training, and competitive battling, but with Pokémon models that align with Minecraft’s aesthetic. If you have played both games and really like Pokémon, then this is for you! You can find Pokémon spawning naturally in biomes, craft Poké Balls from Apricorns, and ride them for a long tread anywhere in the sky or land. The mod brings two universes together, making a healthy and improvised gaming area.
What does it mean to ride a Pokémon in Cobblemon?
In Cobblemon, riding a Pokémon means you are using one of your larger, released team members as a personal mount for transportation throughout your Minecraft world. It’s kinda like an upgrade on the classic methods of travelling within the game. Different Pokémon offer different ride styles. For example, a Charizard lets you fly, a Gyarados lets you swim swiftly across the ocean, and a Tauros gives you a fast land mount. Depending on what you want, you can pick a Pokémon. Also, you just have to simply interact with the Pokémon to hop on and start your ride. Now you can go wherever you want to!
Steps to ride a Pokémon in Cobblemon
If you want to ride a Pokémon in Cobblemon, then these are the steps that you need to follow.
Get a Rideable Pokémon
The first thing to take care of is a ridable Pokémon in your party. You can’t ride every type and usually need a larger, flying/swimming type to do this.
Release Your Pokémon
Throw the Poké Ball to bring your chosen Pokémon with you. This will only initiate the process. Now, slowly walk up to your Pokémon and hold the Crouch key, which is usually Shift in Minecraft.
Open the Menu and Choose ‘Ride’
While crouching, Right-Click on the Pokémon. This will open up the circular interaction wheel for further options. Click on the “Ride” or “Mount” option displayed on the screen to finally mount your Pokémon.
To Dismount
Once you have had a ride and have to get off, simply press your Sneak key (Shift) while you are riding. You can also use the Sneak + Send Out Pokémon key combo, which is often Shift + R. This will get you off your Pokémon.
Voila! You’ve just ridden a Pokémon. You get plenty of rides to choose from, and plenty of places to go. So, all the best!
