What does it mean to see Messages in iOS 26?

In iOS 26, the Messages app received a significant “Liquid Glass” redesign that makes the interface feel new. Now it feels more fluid and layered for the users. The most practical and famous update is the new Screening Tool, which automatically filters messages from unknown senders into a separate view to keep your main list clean. This keeps your messages clean, and the alignment is just perfect. You may also notice custom backgrounds for individual chats and a native Polls feature for group threads. Also, with Apple Intelligence integrated, Siri can now summarize long message threads for you and even draft context-aware replies that sound much more like you. Yes, that’s the thing that you could only do with AI chatbots, but you can do it with your iOS 26, too!

Steps to see Photos in Messages in iOS 26

If you want to see Photos in Messages in iOS 26, then these are the steps that you can follow.

Open the Conversation

In your iOS 26, you need to tap on the specific chat where the photos were shared. This is the place where the process begins.

Tap on the Contact Header

Tap on the name or profile icons at the very top of the screen to open the contact information card. This will let you view the available contact details and fetch the information you need.

Choose the Photos Tab

Beneath the contact details, you’ll see a row of tabs that has info about backgrounds and photos. Tap on Photos to see a grid of every image and video ever sent in that thread, and you can view it at your own comfort. As the next step, you can now use the Filter icon at the bottom to toggle between “Photos,” “Videos,” and “Screenshots” if you want that for faster searching. You can navigate between them to pick and see.

Check the “Shared with You” Section

If you want to see the photos across all conversations that are saved or took place on your account, you can open the main Photos app, tap on the Search tab, and then look for the Shared with You collection. This will get you what you’ve been looking for!

That’s all you need to do to see the images out there. It is simple, and you can do it in a few minutes.

Troubleshooting Sync – A Tip!

However, if you face some trouble and if photos aren’t appearing for you, just go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Messages and make sure that “Sync this iPhone” is toggled On. That would do it!
