Friend Requests on Facebook

Facebook has a concept of Friend Requests for private accounts that are created with the intention of surfing but not staying public. This ensures that the users have the monopoly over the decision as to who they want to add as friends to their accounts. The people they choose to be their friends on the platform are the ones who can actually see their posts and even text or call them. Thus, they play a huge role in ensuring the social security of accounts on the platform.

How to see sent friend requests on Facebook?

Sent friend requests are the ones that you send to the people you want to connect with on Facebook. These can be people you know, or simply the accounts that you find interesting and would like to connect with. If you have sent friend requests to people on Facebook, here is how you can check those out –

Log in to your Facebook account on the website or application on the device that you are using.

Once logged in, you can go to the ‘Friends’ icon or ‘Friend Requests’ (if you are using the web). Here you can proceed to see all the friend requests that you have received.

This is also where you can see the requests that you have sent if you click on ‘All requests’. This is the list of all the people you have sent friend requests to. If you want to cancel any due to second thoughts, you can do so from here. If not, you can simply check that out too.

The 30-day cycle: Reasons you can’t see your requests

One of the reasons you cannot see your friend requests is probably because you haven’t checked them out in the past 30 days. The platform doesn’t show the requests that are older than a month. Thus, we would suggest that you frequently check your friend requests if you fear that you may miss some.

Does the person know you deleted their friend request?

No. The people who have sent you friend requests don’t know that you have deleted their friend requests. It may only be learnt if they see an option on their account to send you a friend request again. Thus, we see the concept of friend requests and how they exist to protect your privacy on the special media.

We suggest that you do not accept friend requests form accounts that appear shady or are from people who you don’t know. This is because all your friends will be able to access your posts and content, and it can be a good opportunity for anybody looking to cause trouble or even scam.
