Can we see who shared our post on Facebook?

A lot of times, you can, but it depends on privacy settings. It’s not that difficult, though, and you can almost always get it. If someone with a public profile shares your post, you can usually see their name by clicking the “Shares” link under the post. This icon is right there on the post, and you can access it right there. It’s a great way to see who’s engaging with your content and how much engagement your post is getting. However, privacy settings can be a thing to watch out for. If a friend shares your post but sets their own post’s audience to “Friends” or “Only Me,” or if a stranger with a private profile shares it, they won’t show up in your list, and you may not learn about it. You may see them only in numbers, but that won’t show their names.

Steps to see who shared your Facebook posts

If you want to know who shared your posts on Facebook, then these are the steps that you can follow.

Find the Post

Log in to your Facebook account and go to your profile. Now, find the specific post you have in mind to see the sharing.

Look for the Share Link

The post will have it all, and you don’t have to look here and there. Directly underneath the post, look for text that says the number of shares. It can be different for different posts.

Click on the Text

You need to click directly on that “shares” link. After this, A pop-up window will appear listing the people who shared it publicly. You can see that on the screen, and you will be further notified as well.

Check Notifications

If someone just shared it, you likely have a notification in a separate box for the same. Click on the Bell icon in the top right corner of your screen, and it takes you directly to the shared version of the post. This will be where you can see their names and their accounts.

Using “Shares” on Mobile

It is easier this way. On the Facebook app, the process is the same, but maybe more organized for some users. Tap the share count at the bottom of the post to see the list. You will have it there! However, if the list is empty or shorter than the total count, it’s because those users have their sharing privacy set to “Friends” or “Only Me.” There is no way to crack that, and you can only see those names without these restricting settings.
