Can I see who stalks me on Facebook?

Unfortunately, no. Facebook doesn’t provide you with a direct way of seeing who has been stalking your profile. That means you cannot know for sure who has been visiting and keenly following your profile. This has been done by Facebook just to ensure the privacy of their users. While this works just fine in most cases, it can really backfire when it comes to a case of stalking. But don’t worry, as there still are several ways that can help you know who has been more active on your profile than healthy.

Ways to find one’s stalkers on Facebook

There are several ways that you can find the people who have been actively following your account –

  • Your Story and its Views: You can see a precise list of individuals and their accounts who view your Facebook Stories. Consistent views from a particular person might indicate broader profile interest, which can often be shady.
  • Frequent Interactions: Accounts who regularly like, comment on, or share your posts are actively engaging with your content and are likely visiting your profile frequently.
  • “People You May Know” Suggestions: While not definitive, sometimes profiles of people who have recently viewed your page might appear in these suggestions, especially if there are no other obvious connections. It also happens when you have mutual friends, so it isn’t the most reliable indicator.
  • Unusual Messaging or Friend Requests: Persistent or shady messages, or repeated friend requests from unknown accounts, can be a red flag in this matter.

These are some of the ways that can help you highlight some of the accounts that have been active on your account. While this is not a sure indicator, it definitely throws light on accounts that have been frequently visiting your profile.

Prevention measures

Here are a few things a person can do to avoid any unwanted attention on active platforms like Facebook –

  • Privacy Settings Review: Regularly check your Facebook privacy settings. Adjusting who can see your posts, photos, and friends list can significantly limit unwanted attention, especially from accounts which you already have weird incidents with.
  • Blocking Users: If you identify someone causing concern, blocking them prevents them
